Why are you the best candidate to represent your Idaho neighborhood?

Campaign Statement I believe the phrase "We The People" refers to all citizens of the United States. A healthy, thriving democratic republic requires active participation of the electorate. We elect leaders to represent our interests, and have the greatest influence at the local, grassroots level. If we do not participate, we are simply being "governed" by the active minority.

Office Sought Precinct 308 Committeeman, Kootenai County Republican Central Committee
Yes, I was elected in 2024, and seek to serve a second term representing Precinct 308. I attended every monthly and special meeting of the KCRCC in this term, and served on the Legislative Committee.
Absolutely. As stated previously, our democratic republic relies on active participation to be effective. A well-informed electorate is fundamental to that end.
I believe to be qualified for local office one must have local experience to know and understand the complexities of the community. That does not refer only to how long one has resided in the community, however. The most qualified candidate will have been actively involved with community organizations, and possess the skills necessary to effectively carry out the duties of office. The primary obligation of local office holders is to do what is best for the entity they serve, and should, therefore, be nonpartisan.

My wife and I have lived in Kootenai County for 46 years, and resided in Rathdrum/Precinct 308 for 41 years. We raised 3 children here, all educated K-12 in Lakeland schools. As a retired educator I have had the opportunity to work with many community organizations, including parent-teacher groups, booster clubs, and local chapters of various service organizations. I am currently a volunteer with the Rathdrum Food Bank, and have served as Precinct 308 Committeeman on the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee since 2024.
