Campaign Statement I am running for Precinct Committeeperson because I care deeply about Kootenai County and the future of our Republican Party. I have lived here since high school, and my husband and I have raised our two children in North Idaho because we value its strong communities, quality of life, and conservative principles. I believe in a party that is welcoming to all Republicans, where every voice is heard, and leadership truly represents the precinct. If elected, I will keep neighbors informed through newsletters and outreach, encourage civil conversation, and ensure decisions are guided by conservative principles, transparency, and community values. I have not previously run as a precinct committeeperson, and before 2020, I was largely unaware of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee’s role. Over time, I saw a shift toward a small group directing decisions for the party and determining who was “Republican enough.” I was concerned by the exclusion of voices from the process. I believe our party works best when all members are welcomed, encouraged to participate, and have their perspectives respected.
While I have not had the opportunity to meet my current Precinct Committeeperson or hear from them directly, I believe voter engagement is important. I support efforts to provide forums, debates, and information to help voters make informed decisions.
In evaluating candidates for local office, I place the highest importance on qualifications and strong ties to the community, with relevant skills included as part of those qualifications. For non-partisan positions, adherence to a national party is less critical, though supporting the party platform is important when shaping policies and procedures. I also value limited government, reduced regulation, and minimal interference, ensuring leaders focus on practical solutions that benefit the community as a whole.
I believe I am well-suited for this position because I am committed to representing all neighbors in my precinct, fostering open communication, and ensuring leadership reflects the values of our community. I bring a strong connection to Kootenai County, a deep appreciation for conservative principles, and a focus on transparency, inclusion, and civic engagement. I am dedicated to promoting civil dialogue, responsible growth, and voter education, while holding party leadership accountable to principle and community priorities.
