Precinct Committee
I have been a Precinct Committeeman since May, 2024. My goals on the committee are for transparency in process. I have regularly stood up to object to the rulings of Chairman Brent Regan.
I think candidates should have more forums and debates.
I think a candidate's good character is the most important qualification, and perhaps the most difficult quality to judge. I want candidates who have established themselves locally, and built a responsible reputation in the community. Blind party loyalty is obedience that destroys independent thought. So it is sufficient to have a candidate that agrees with the party 80% of the time, as Ronald Reagan said.
I am born and raised in North Idaho. I am a graduate of North Idaho College, and the University of Idaho College of law. I've lived in my precinct for 15 years where my wife and I raised our son. He went to Sorensen elementary. I stongly support public education. Our State Constitution notes that "The stability of a republican form of government depending mainly upon the intelligence of the people, it shall be the duty of the legislature of Idaho, to establish and maintain a general, uniform and thorough system of public, free common schools." I believe it is my republican duty to assist the legislature in strongly supporting high-quality public education for our chidlren. I support strong institutions, police and fire.
