Office Sought Precinct Committeeman 419
Yes. I am a former precinct committeeman, past State Committeeman, and co-chair of the State Convention Rules Committee in 1996
I believe being an informed voter is an obligation for every citizen. I will be willing to participate to that end however a prior commitment will take me out of the country from May 6th to 26th. I am getting an absentee ballot.
Qualifications are the most important. I have been active politically. I spent 14 years in the Idaho Senate including ten as chair of the Education Committee. Prior to that, I served on the Coeur d Alene School Board and I was appointed to the Board of North Idaho College when that institution was on the brink of losing accreditation. I am proud of being a part of the board that moved the college toward a solution to the governance problem it had. Local experience is next; I am a Kootenai County resident for over 50 years. I have been active in the business community, serving as chair of the Coeur d Alene Chamber of Commerce. The county Republican Central Committee must be focused on local and state issues before looking to the national.
As you have read, I have been in positions of leadership in the past. In those roles, I have listened to those who elected me to lead. I feel that our central committee has taken a wrong turn. The majority of that team are not precinct committee people and have no obligation to reflect the values of the voters. I feel I have the commitment to stay the course and assist more responsible leadership.
