Campaign Statement
As your Elected Clerk, I am dedicated to providing efficient, cost-effective government for the citizens of Kootenai County.
Office Sought
Clerk
With nine years of leadership in the Clerk’s Office—three as your elected Clerk and six as Chief Deputy Clerk—I offer a proven track record of service. This experience, combined with a BA in Economics and eight years of operating a small business, provides a strong foundation for leading the Clerk’s five departments: Auditor, Elections, District Court, Recorder, and County Assistance, and has enabled me to successfully manage 106 employees, oversee the budget process, administer elections, and fulfill the diverse responsibilities of the Clerk's Office. My blend of public service and private-sector experience ensures Kootenai County remains efficient, accountable, and fiscally responsible.
One of my top priorities is fiscal accountability. I have strengthened the budget process through three-year analyses of revenue and expenses, ensuring the efficient use of taxpayer dollars. Election security will also remain a top priority, supported by rigorous testing, thorough training, and a strict chain of custody over paper ballots and election equipment. Finally, operational stability is essential and a top priority for me. Managing 106 employees across the five diverse departments of the Clerk’s Office requires proven experience. I will continue to ensure continuity and stability in our county government, delivering excellent service to citizens while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Since 2016, registered voters have grown by 38% to over 110,400, making Kootenai the third-largest county in Idaho and one that consistently averages a higher turnout rate than most counties in the state. To further voter education, our office has expanded outreach through our County website and Facebook page, providing timely, informative election details. After the 2023 change to the Idaho voter registration law, I worked with news outlets to help voters understand the new ID and residency requirements. Most recently, the Elections Office and I visited high schools to educate students about Idaho elections and voter registration. As Clerk, I will continue expanding outreach to our community about election information and upcoming dates.
It has been a privilege to work alongside the dedicated employees of the Clerk’s Office, and I am proud of all we have accomplished together for the citizens of Kootenai County. I would be honored to continue serving the citizens of Kootenai County for another term as County Clerk.
