Ensure the continued modernization of our County, the optimization of efficiency within my office, and the maximizing of our County’s interest revenue. First is modernization, this is an ongoing implementation process of working with all County departments receiving money and ensuring they have modern conveniences. We still have County offices that can’t accept online payments or credit cards and that shouldn’t be. My office has worked with many of these departments over the past year and plan to work with many more over the coming year to ensure we are not only modernizing our own office, but other County offices as well. With our knowledge of banking and our work with different processors we coordinate and implement these services at very reasonable costs to the departments. Second is the optimization of efficiency within my office. With modern technology and software we have been implementing, we are streamlining items that used to be much more labor intensive. This is beneficial to our community as many of our fees are based on cost to perform the service. By becoming more efficient we can reduce the amount we charge to perform services. Successful efficiency ensures our fees remain reasonable. Third is maximization of our County’s interest revenue. My team and I manage an investment portfolio of over $1billion. It contains the County, schools, fire districts, and other special districts. We implemented and continue to improve upon our investment strategy. Our three goals in order of importance: Safety, Liquidity, Rate. Our strategy is ever evolving and adapts with current times of the markets. We stay current on world events that have impacts on the market. We do continuing education and are part of financial organizations like CACTTC & CMTA. As Treasurer-Tax Collector and a CTP I am required to log continued education. This allows us to continue improving our successful investment strategy. This year we are on pace to bring in $38million in interest revenue.

As your current Treasurer-Tax Collector, I bring extensive experience in public finance, treasury operations, and organizational leadership. I previously served as the Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector; gaining firsthand knowledge of county operations, taxpayer services, and establishing strong relationships with our County Government. Our previous Treasurer-Tax Collector, K.E. Coleman, personally trained and mentored me, and I have her full endorsement. As a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Nevada, I bring proven leadership, technical expertise, and a results-driven approach to managing our county’s investment portfolio of over $1Billion. Prior to joining the County, I was Controller for one of the top ten largest property management companies in the US. I directed an accounting department of over 200 employees and was responsible for treasury management, financial reporting, internal controls, and fiscal oversight. My professional background demonstrates a strong commitment to accountability, efficiency, and financial management. My fiancée and I are lifelong residents of El Dorado County and are committed to the successful future of our community. I am a member of our local Chamber of Commerce, serve on the Sheriff’s Posse Board, and serve as your Treasurer-Tax Collector. My Fiancée is a local middle school teacher, coaches volleyball, and teaches leadership. We view public service as an honor and opportunity to positively impact the County we all call home.
