Reduce excessive government regulation Invest in local business Get the county budget back in balance
Robert Deitz has called El Dorado County home for more than three decades. He and his wife, Wendy, first discovered the area in the late 1990s while traveling from Sacramento to explore the Rubicon Trail and the natural beauty of the El Dorado National Forest. Drawn to the county's rural character, strong community spirit, and outdoor heritage, they purchased property off Lotus Road and built the family home where they still live today.

Robert's professional life began in the computer industry, where he developed a passion for innovation and problem-solving. In 1997, he founded one of the nation's earliest companies focused on computer security—years before "cybersecurity" became a common term. His work brought him into collaboration with federal agencies including the Pentagon, NSA, CIA, State Department, DOJ, DHS, and many others.

As a parent, Robert immersed himself in youth programs across the county. He volunteered at the California Montessori Project, served as a Cub Scout Den Leader and Pack Master, coached Little League teams, and later coached youth trap shooting and the Ponderosa High School Mountain Bike Team—where he still volunteers even after his son's graduation and completion of his Eagle Scout rank.

Robert's life reflects a simple principle: when something needs to be done, he steps up. He cares deeply about El Dorado County and has a long record of service, stewardship, and hands-on involvement.

Ballot Designation Community Advocate
1. Prioritize wildfire mitigation to protect homeowners’ insurance 2. Protect our rural communities from sprawl 3. Restore fiscal discipline with accountability for our tax dollars that includes refocusing building & planning to work for residents.
For more than 20 years, District 4 has been my home, where I raised my family and built deep, lasting ties in our community. I am not a career politician—I bring a common-sense, results-driven approach to governance. Over a 27+ year successful business career, I have set policy, built and led high-performing teams, and managed budgets—skills that directly translate to effective leadership as a County Supervisor. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration, providing both technical and strategic expertise to address complex county challenges. I currently serve as an El Dorado County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) Commissioner, and I am actively involved in our community as a board member of the Taxpayers’ Association of El Dorado County, The Shingle Springs Community Center, Chair of the Sierrama Firewise community as well as Vice Chair of the Greater Cameron Park Fire Safe Council. Additionally, my two terms on the El Dorado County Civil Grand Jury gave me a unique, inside perspective on how county government operates—identifying inefficiencies, ensuring accountability, and highlighting opportunities for improvement. I will bring this combination of real-world experience, community involvement, and proven leadership to serve the residents of District 4 with transparency, accountability, and results.
