1. Financial Transparency Monterey County residents deserve clear, accurate, and timely information about how public funds are managed. I will work to make county financial reporting more accessible and understandable to the public. By improving how financial information is shared and explained, we can build greater trust between the community and local government.

2. Protecting Taxpayer Dollars Safeguarding public funds requires strong internal controls, rigorous oversight, and a professional workforce equipped to identify and prevent fraud, waste, and misuse of resources. I will prioritize proactive internal audits across county departments to strengthen compliance and identify opportunities to operate more efficiently.

3. Stronger Operations, Better Public Service The Auditor-Controller’s office can only function effectively with a stable, capable team. I will focus on staff retention, talent development, and operational improvement so the office can better support county departments and serve the public efficiently. By preserving institutional knowledge and improving workflows, we can help ensure the county’s financial operations run smoothly and reliably.

I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 17 years of dedicated experience in governmental accounting, auditing, and financial reporting. My career has been built on ensuring fiscal responsibility, compliance, and transparency in the public sector.

For nearly a decade, I served directly within the Monterey County Auditor-Controller's Office, first as Chief Deputy Auditor-Controller (2016–2019) and then as Assistant Auditor-Controller (2019–2025). This firsthand experience gives me an intimate, comprehensive understanding of the County’s specific financial systems, operations, budgetary requirements, and internal controls. I know how this office operates from the inside out. Prior to my public service with the County, I spent 8 years working as an external auditor in public accounting, providing me with a rigorous foundation in independent financial oversight and objective analysis.

Educationally, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Accounting pattern, graduating magna cum laude. To ensure I am always bringing the best practices to my work, I maintain active memberships in the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

As a resident of Salinas and Monterey County for over 11 years, I am deeply committed to this community. I am ready to apply my extensive professional expertise on day one to safeguard our county's financial health and ensure that taxpayer dollars are managed with the absolute highest level of integrity.
