Office Sought Benewah County Coroner
One of the most important challenges facing Benewah County is the lack of resources and funding for essential public services, including death investigations. As a rural county, we operate on a very minimal budget, yet we are still responsible for providing thorough, professional, and timely investigations in often complex and sensitive situations.

Limited funding can impact response times, access to specialized resources, training opportunities, and necessary equipment. Despite these challenges, I have worked hard to be resourceful, build strong partnerships, and ensure that our office continues to meet the needs of our community with integrity and care.

Moving forward, I will continue to advocate for increased funding and awareness at the county and state level, while maintaining fiscal responsibility. I am committed to finding practical solutions, seeking out grants and partnerships when possible, and ensuring that every dollar is used efficiently.
I bring a combination of education, certification, and hands-on experience that uniquely prepares me to address these challenges. I have a degree in Mortuary Science and have been certified through the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators since 2016, ensuring I meet national standards in death investigation.

Equally important is my experience. I have served in the Benewah County Coroner’s Office since 2013 as Chief Deputy and have been your elected Coroner since 2023. This has given me over a decade of direct, on-the-ground experience handling a wide range of cases in a rural setting with limited resources.

Through this experience, I have learned how to be resourceful, make sound decisions under pressure, and build strong working relationships with law enforcement, medical professionals, and community partners. I understand the unique challenges our county faces and have the knowledge and leadership to continue improving services while being mindful of budget constraints
Staying connected and accessible to the people of Benewah County is very important to me. I believe communication and trust are essential, especially in a role that serves families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

I will continue to be available, approachable, and responsive to our community—whether that’s working directly with families, collaborating with local agencies, or being present and engaged at community events. I also believe in clear and respectful communication, ensuring that people understand our role and feel supported throughout the process.

In addition, I will continue to look for opportunities to educate the public about the responsibilities of the Coroner’s Office and the importance of death investigations in protecting public safety. My goal is to remain visible, accountable, and committed to serving this community with compassion and integrity.
