Valley County Commissioner District 2

The three-member Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of the county. County Commissioner is the only office that has legislative, executive and judicial responsibilities and duties. Commissioners have the power to pass ordinances, adopt budgets, fix tax levy rates and oversee the county budget. They are charged with the duty of supervising the official conduct of all county officers as their conduct relates to public monies and revenues, as well as supervising appointed boards and committees. They also act as the Board of Equalization. The Board sits as a quasi-judicial body to hear various matters, including planning and zoning requests, property valuation protests and requests for cancellation of taxes, and indigent issues among many others.

I want to help ensure that Valley County grows in a way that protects what people love about it while preparing responsibly for the future. That means strengthening infrastructure, supporting local economies, and making thoughtful land-use decisions so our communities remain livable and accessible. I also want to improve transparency, communication, and community engagement between the county and residents, so people feel informed and heard.
My background has prepared me to approach this role with both practical problem-solving and a willingness to listen. Through my work in community-focused projects, like the Mountain Community Center District, I've worked collaboratively with many different entities towards one shared goal. I’m also someone who is constantly learning. I take the responsibility of understanding issues seriously so I can make informed, thoughtful decisions on behalf of the community.
One of the biggest challenges facing Valley County is managing growth in a way that doesn’t outpace our infrastructure or erode the character of our communities. There’s also a need to ensure responsible use of taxpayer dollars while still investing in essential services and long-term needs. I believe I can help bring a balanced approach. An approach that recognizes the importance of growth, but insists it be done in a way that is sustainable, well-planned, and aligned with what residents actually want.
I’m running because I care deeply about this community and believe in showing up, doing the work, and making decisions with integrity. I bring energy, persistence, and a genuine commitment to listening. I'm passionate about serving my community. I have successfully worked hard to effect positive change for our county and will continue to do so. At the end of the day, I'm campaigning for the community, this isn't about me. This is about how I can best serve those around me. It's about making sure residents feel heard, respected, and included in the decisions that shape our future.
