Madison County Commissioner District 2

The three-member Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of the county. County Commissioner is the only office that has legislative, executive and judicial responsibilities and duties. Commissioners have the power to pass ordinances, adopt budgets, fix tax levy rates and oversee the county budget. They are charged with the duty of supervising the official conduct of all county officers as their conduct relates to public monies and revenues, as well as supervising appointed boards and committees. They also act as the Board of Equalization. The Board sits as a quasi-judicial body to hear various matters, including planning and zoning requests, property valuation protests and requests for cancellation of taxes, and indigent issues among many others.

Office Sought Madison County Commissioner - District 2
My primary goal is to ensure Madison County remains a place where families can thrive and businesses can grow. I intend to focus on three pillars: Listening to the needs of our residents, Leading with transparency in how we manage taxpayer dollars, and Planning for our future growth. Specifically, I want to ensure our infrastructure keeps pace with our expanding population while maintaining the conservative fiscal discipline that protects our residents' hard-earned money.
As a local business owner (Circle of Love and Hearts Bridal & Tuxedo), I understand the importance of balanced budgets, customer service, and long-term planning. My current service on the Madison School District Board of Trustees, the Rexburg Urban Renewal Agency, and the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce has given me deep insight into the intersection of local government, education, and economic development. These roles have prepared me to collaborate with various stakeholders to find common-sense solutions for our county.
The most significant challenge facing Madison County is managing rapid growth without losing our community identity or overextending our resources. We must address infrastructure needs—such as roads and public services—while being extremely mindful of the tax burden on our citizens. My experience in private business and on the Urban Renewal Agency allows me to look at growth through a lens of economic viability and strategic planning.
I am a husband and a father of four who is deeply invested in the future of this county. I believe a strong community starts with strong families and a commitment to our shared conservative values. My campaign is built on being a resource for the voters; I want to make local government accessible and understandable for everyone. I would be honored to earn your vote on May 19th.
