Fremont County Commissioner District 2

The three-member Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of the county. County Commissioner is the only office that has legislative, executive and judicial responsibilities and duties. Commissioners have the power to pass ordinances, adopt budgets, fix tax levy rates and oversee the county budget. They are charged with the duty of supervising the official conduct of all county officers as their conduct relates to public monies and revenues, as well as supervising appointed boards and committees. They also act as the Board of Equalization. The Board sits as a quasi-judicial body to hear various matters, including planning and zoning requests, property valuation protests and requests for cancellation of taxes, and indigent issues among many others.

Office Sought County Commissioner District 2
To build a better future for our county through strong leadership and a shared sense of purpose. Your County, your Future and My Commitment.
Today, citizens depend on the county government more than ever before, which makes it more important than ever that dedicated people run for the office of county commissioner. Only through respectful discourse can we find solutions to the ever evolving issues that could potentially impact the future of Fremont County. I will listen and I will ponder and together we will work to make changes if they are for the better good of the county and its residents. This is a promise. I drive the roads of Fremont County on my daily route as a UPS delivery driver. I have developed friendships and people like to talk….and I listen. I have heard what you have to say and I have decided I want to help you and give the people their voice back.
Apathy. People feel like things are out of their control OR those that are in callings of county leadership feel it is too hard to make changes. I will work tirelessly toward making those change that are for the betterment of Fremont County.
I put forth my best effort in everything that I do. I conduct myself with honesty and integrity every day. My desire is for each and every resident of this county to get their voice back and be heard. I want the county to know I am committed to a transparent, accountable government focused on strengthening infrastructure, improving public safety, and managing the budget responsibly.
Campaign Statement I’m running for Fremont County Commissioner to bring honest, transparent leadership that focuses on fiscal responsibility, smart growth, and a safer community. With a background in leadership and budget management, I will ensure that every decision I make is in the best interest of our families, businesses, and future generations.

If elected, I will prioritize a comprehensive rewrite of our county's comprehensive plan and development code, bringing them up to date with today’s economic, environmental, and social realities. I will also bring transparency to the process and be a true voice for Fremont County, because I know many residents feel like they aren’t heard or that their opinions don’t matter due to social status. I don’t care about those distinctions. I will fight to make sure every voice in Fremont County is respected and heard as we shape our future.
My experience in senior leadership roles leading soldiers into conflict over 25 years of recent military service has prepared me profoundly for this office. I started as a private and rose through the ranks, achieving the rank of Sergeant Major, a level that fewer than 1% of the Army ever reach. I made tough decisions under pressure, demonstrated proven leadership in real-world environments, and was repeatedly put to the test by decisions that had real-life, life-and-death consequences. I analyzed and balanced budgets of multiple millions of dollars, ensuring every dollar was purpose-driven. With that same dedication and vigor, I will do the same for this county. I will lift us up, bringing discipline, leadership, and fiscal responsibility
Right now, I believe Fremont County faces multiple significant challenges that need immediate attention. As I mentioned earlier, updating the comprehensive plan and development code is a top priority. Equally critical is addressing the strain on EMS, Search and Rescue, and the Sheriff’s Department, all stretched thin due to rising tourism and rapid growth in our county, as well as the hazardous conditions many visitors don’t fully grasp. Our fire departments, across the three districts, also feel this pressure, struggling to keep up with demand. Transparency and communication with our elected officials is vital, we are elected by the people, and we must be their voice, truly listening and representing their needs.
I believe it’s time for change in Fremont County. We have experienced rapid growth that we were not prepared for, and it is now threatening to damage our way of life, from the largest farmers to the smallest ranchers. Fremont County is unique; it is not a one-size-fits-all. If you look at Island Park compared to Ashton, St. Anthony, Teton, Newdale, and Chester, each area has its own unique characteristics. What works in Parker may not apply in Island Park, and we must recognize that. We need leaders who understand that diversity and can tailor solutions to each community. I am ready to be that voice, ensuring we protect agriculture, balance growth, and rise to a future that honors each part of this county.
