My family and I love Sumner County. The warmth and sense of community here are truly unmatched. My wife, Alicia, and I chose to put down roots and raise our family here. I work here. My children attend public schools here. They practice martial arts and participate in Cub Scouts and 4H in Sumner County. This isn’t just where we live, it’s our home. I want to see our community continue moving in the right direction. Our elected officials help shape the kind of community we leave behind for our children with every meeting and every vote. The future we all want depends on strong, collaborative leadership. Leadership that brings people together rather than operating in silos, and leadership that focuses on solutions instead of negativity.
Responsible Growth- We must ensure growth does not outpace our infrastructure and services. Our roads and emergency services can quickly become overwhelmed when dense residential growth is allowed to occur unmanaged. Strengthening Schools- Both of my children attend public school, so I care deeply about the quality of education in our county. Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with our School Board ensures the Commission has a seat at the table. Supporting Our First Responders- These heroes are the only thing standing between our comfortable lives and devastation. Ensuring our Sheriff's Office, EMS, and Volunteer Fire Departments are properly funded keeps our community safe and helps them return home safely.
My primary consideration when working with the county budget will always be that these funds are my neighbors’ hard earned tax dollars. Reckless spending leads to tax increases, and any increase should never be taken lightly. Every financial decision should be carefully evaluated through a cost-benefit analysis to ensure real value is being delivered to our citizens relative to the cost. My top priority is finding the right balance for responsible growth that does not damage our small town culture, family values, and rural charm. Economic growth is essential for long term success, but it must work for and benefit everyone in our community.
