Office Sought Bannock County Coroner
The most important challenges facing Bannock County, as they relate to the coroner’s office, are access to forensic resources and the need to modernize the system.

A major issue is the lack of a regional pathology center. When an autopsy is needed, cases must be sent to Boise, creating higher costs, delays, and stress for families. I would work with neighboring counties, healthcare providers, and ISU to strengthen local forensic resources in Southeast Idaho. A facility here could also serve Northern Utah, bringing jobs and investment to our region.

The second challenge is that Idaho’s coroner system is based on an older model. I have great respect for the office of coroner and for those who serve with professionalism and compassion. Any move toward a medical examiner system would take time and thoughtful planning. I support working toward stronger qualifications, consistent standards, and scientific oversight, while serving Bannock County professionally today.
I believe my background gives me a strong foundation to address these challenges. I hold a Master of Science degree in Anthropology with training in forensic anthropology. Through that work, I developed skills in human anatomy, trauma analysis, evidence-based investigation, and careful interpretation of findings. Those skills are directly relevant to the work of a coroner, where accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

I also understand that larger issues, such as improving access to pathology services, require collaboration. Through my connections with Idaho State University and professionals in the region, I would be prepared to help build partnerships and pursue practical solutions.

Just as important, I take seriously the human side of this position. Families deserve compassion, honesty, and respect during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, and I would bring that commitment to every case.
I will stay engaged with the people of Bannock County by making the coroner’s office accessible, responsive, and transparent. The public deserves confidence that the office is being run responsibly and according to the law. I would communicate openly, listen to concerns, and be available to the community whenever appropriate.

At the same time, transparency has limits. Families deserve privacy, dignity, and respect, and active investigations must be handled within legal boundaries. My commitment would be to share as much information as I responsibly can while protecting sensitive matters that should remain confidential.

Most importantly, I will hold myself accountable to both the law and the public. Trust is earned through honesty, professionalism, and consistent service, and I would work every day to maintain that trust.
