What do you see as the main responsibilities of a county commissioner?
What are two goals you would like to accomplish during your term of office?
How would you accomplish those goals?
I consider the main responsibility of a county commissioner is to listen to the people of their community. The commissioner is the representative of the voter.
I-Eddie Arnold a lifelong residence of my Zone 6 - 22 years retired veteran - Air Force 14 years, 9 years Army Aviation. I would love to serve Zone 6 with all my abilities invested for the residence of Zone 6.
I want to see the infrastructure keep up with the rapid growth in the county. The codes department needs to be better at addressing the need of the problems that the people of Rutherford County are facing. Examples: The Engineering & Codes Department take too much time helping business customers getting site plans completed in a timely manner. This department needs to have a sign-off sheet with a record of projects such as a milestone chart from start to completion. An elected official county commissioner should be able to ask the Engineering and codes department for an activity report for approved or not approved outstanding site plans.
All requests for permits should have a check sheet sign off for compliance by all parties concerned. Such as, electrical, water, sewage, fire department, security along with the Dept of Transportation known as TDOT. The needs for better communication from the Engineering and Codes Department. This Department needs to give good working instructions for permit applications to start a business plan. Also this department needs to give good working instructions for permit applications to start a business plan. Also, this department needs to avoid verbal work orders by having up-to-date written work instructions. Any County Commissioner should have the authority to question any/all work instructions subject to their county zone.
