A county commissioner’s primary responsibility is to serve the community by making informed, balanced decisions that support growth, fiscal responsibility, and quality of life. This includes managing the county budget, planning for infrastructure and schools, and ensuring responsible development. It also means listening to residents, working collaboratively with local and state partners, and being transparent and accountable in every decision.
Two key goals I would focus on are improving our school system’s capacity and ensuring responsible, well-planned growth.
First, I want to address school overcrowding by supporting long-term planning, funding for new schools, and resources that help retain quality teachers.
Second, I aim to promote smart growth by strengthening infrastructure planning and making sure development aligns with our community’s needs, protecting both our quality of life and future sustainability.
I would accomplish these goals through collaboration, planning, and responsible budgeting.
For our schools, I would work closely with the school board, county leadership, and state partners to secure funding, prioritize school construction and expansion, and support policies that help retain quality teachers.
For growth, I would advocate for proactive planning by aligning development with infrastructure capacity, supporting thoughtful zoning decisions, and ensuring we invest in roads and services before growth outpaces them. Throughout both efforts, I will remain accessible to residents and committed to transparent, fiscally responsible decision-making.
