Campaign Statement
I'm Carlos Hernandez, and I chose Caldwell. I came here because this community represents everything I believe in: hard work, faith, family, and opportunity. I'm running for House District 11A because Canyon County deserves a representative who is engaged, prepared, and focused on results.

My priorities are ensuring Idaho's agricultural workforce pipeline remains strong and that our public schools are adequately funded to serve every student. Canyon County's economy depends on a reliable labor supply for its dairy, sugar beet, and farming operations; meaningful H-2A reform at the state level is long overdue. Simultaneously, I believe a well-funded public education system is the foundation of a prosperous community. I will advocate for both with the same urgency, because they are not competing priorities, they are complementary investments in Canyon County's future.
My background spans finance, public administration, and project management in large organizations and higher education. I have worked at the intersection of community development, fiscal oversight, and government affairs, giving me the analytical tools to evaluate legislation with rigor and the communication skills to translate complex policy for constituents. I also bring direct engagement with Canyon County's agricultural stakeholders, business leaders, and constituents, which has deepened my understanding of the regulatory challenges facing our district.
Canyon County is one of Idaho's fastest-growing areas, and that growth creates pressure on infrastructure, schools, and public services that must be managed carefully and proactively. At the same time, our agricultural sector faces a persistent workforce shortage that threatens the viability of operations that have sustained this community for generations. Addressing both requires a legislator who engages seriously with data, builds relationships across sectors, and prioritizes outcomes over ideology, and that is precisely the approach I intend to bring to this office.
I came to Caldwell because I believe in what this community is building. I am not a career politician, I am a finance and public administration professional who has chosen to serve because I believe Canyon County deserves a representative who prepares, listens, and delivers results. I will be accessible to constituents, accountable to the public interest, and committed to the principle that good governance is measured not by the battles fought, but by the outcomes achieved for the people we serve.
