Office Sought
Idaho Senate District 17
If reelected, I will continue my work to strengthen Idaho’s public education system, housing affordability and responsible growth, protect Idaho’s way of life and public lands, and ensure that state policies reflect the needs and values of our community. Idaho is at a pivotal moment, and I believe we must invest and plan thoughtfully in our future, prioritizing sustainable infrastructure, strong schools, and the protection of our natural resources.
I will also continue working to build collaborative, bipartisan relationships that allow us to focus on policies that benefit Idahoans. My goal is to ensure that District 17 has a consistent, effective voice at the Statehouse, one that listens carefully, acts thoughtfully, and delivers results.
My background in education and public service has given me the expertise, skills and perspective needed to serve effectively for District 17. I have spent almost 25 years working in education, including roles in special education, higher education and teacher preparation and evaluation. My work has also included developing and evaluating academic programs, content standards and assessment processes.
This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of how policy decisions impact students, families and educators in real and lasting ways. In addition, the past five years serving in the legislature has advanced my ability to navigate complex issues, collaborate with colleagues, and advocate for policies that benefit our communities.
One of the most significant challenges facing Idaho is managing rapid growth while maintaining the quality of life that draws people here. This includes housing affordability, protecting agricultural land and open spaces, and ensuring infrastructure and public services keep pace with development.
At the same time, we must continue strengthening public education so students are prepared for the workforce AND civic life. This means supporting students, families, educators, maintaining local control, and making thoughtful investments that reflect Idaho’s long-term needs.
Balancing these priorities requires careful planning and the ability to work with different perspectives to bring people together around shared goals.
It has been an honor to represent District 17 and serve the people of Idaho. I approach this role with a strong sense of responsibility and due diligence to listen, learn and advocate for the diverse voices in our community.
I believe the best forms of government are locally controlled, transparent, responsive, and most importantly, grounded in respect for others. I remain committed to showing up, engaging thoughtfully, and working towards the solutions that reflect the best of Idaho.
I would be honored to continue this work and respectfully ask for your support to represent the voices of District 17.
