Office Sought Senator, District 11
If elected I would like to address the rapid growth that is raising the cost of living for Idahoans, get Idaho’s budget back to a surplus, and increase constituent influence with the legislature.
I was the former senator for district 11, so I have the experience and knowledge of how our legislature operates. I am a retired U.S. Marine. My military career has instilled in me leadership, teamwork, strategic planning, and adaptability. I am also the current chair for the Canyon County Republican Central Committee. While in this position I have worked to continue encouraging constituents to stay involved and give more power back to the people.
Rapid growth has created several problems in Idaho, from raising the cost of living and overcrowding our schools to straining local infrastructures. Another challenge will be Idaho’s debt. The legislature has a spending problem and we have gone from a surplus when I served, into debt thanks to the addicted spending habits the current legislature has.
My number 1 goal as the chairman for the Canyon County Republican Central Committee has been to get political power back into the hands of the local people. Lobbyists and special interest groups have an iron grip on the legislature. This was never the intention of how our government was supposed to operate and this needs to change now. I am committed to ensuring my district is who I will be listening to and I will work to make their opinions heard and considered when bringing forth legislation and voting on legislation.
