I'm a mother of three current KISD students 10 and younger. I was a 2023-2024 Bond Advisory Committee member. I have 20 years of governance expertise. I see this district’s strength and its gaps. The families who feel unseen deserve a champion. I chose this community. Now I am fighting for every child in it.
Katy ISD faces a $29 million deficit, workforce disruption, and inconsistent campus performance.
Fiscal discipline means knowing whether we are getting what we paid for and using what we currently have before spending more. The state sends $6,551 per student to Katy ISD and $10,000 per student through private school vouchers. I will be a vocal advocate for Katy ISD against any external threat to its funding and stability.
Our educators are this district’s greatest asset. Workforce decisions must be driven by data not budget pressure. Paraprofessionals deserve the same advocacy as teachers.
Every child deserves a destination campus. Low engagement is not low concern. Families need us to meet them where they are. I will champion that effort.
As a trustee my job is not managing the budget. That belongs to the CFO. The trustee’s role is oversight. Setting expectations, asking the right questions, and ensuring the budget is aligned with the district’s goals.
My approach focuses on ensuring vendor contracts and expenditures are held to measurable outcomes, advocating for budget transparency across every campus, and protecting this district against external funding threats.
Katy ISD was once an 'A' rated district. A 'B' is not a crisis but it is a signal we cannot ignore. Getting back to an 'A' requires investing in the people responsible for making this district best in class. Protecting our educators is not a budget line item. It is a strategy.
As a working mother of three current KISD students I am a PTA member, campus volunteer, and former KEYs mentor. A 2023-2024 Bond Advisory Committee member helping recommend an $806 million package with zero tax rate increase. When my community needs me I find a way to show up.
My 20 years spanning audit, compliance, risk management, & senior management in one of the most regulated industries in this country have prepared me for this moment. KISD has talented educators and administrators. A well rounded board complements that strength with different expertise. The expertise I bring is governance and oversight and it separates me from every other candidate in this race.
My character is simple. Do the right thing no matter what. I understand that success is a team effort and I lead by serving. I am fair, levelheaded, and accessible.
I hold an MBA and a certificate in Business Process Design from MIT. I was recruited three consecutive times to strengthen complex institutions. I will bring the same commitment to KISD.
This position exists to serve the community not to manage a constituency. Not politics. Not personal agendas. Every decision must trace back to one question. Is this good for the children and families of Katy ISD?
That means respecting the superintendent, asking tough questions without accusation, and knowing what belongs in public versus offline.
Trust is built by showing up, following through, and never mistaking silence for satisfaction.
I will bring my governance and oversight experience as a professional who walks into complex institutions and strengthens them without burning them down. I see around corners, translate policy into action, and rally people around solutions. I will restore confidence and trust back to our community. I'm ready to serve.
I am running because I believe schools thrive when we put teachers first, students at the center, and families at the table. Tutoring a struggling sixth grader showed me how stretched systems impact real students. I want to support educators and ensure board decisions strengthen classrooms.
First, support and retain teachers, because great educators drive student success. I would hold regular teacher forums and prioritize compensation, planning time, and classroom support. Second, disciplined budgeting, because resources must reach classrooms. I would commission regular efficiency reviews and redirect savings to instruction. Third, student outcomes, especially early literacy and math readiness, because gaps widen quickly. I would require clear data reporting and targeted interventions.
I would focus on protecting classroom spending, especially teacher pay, materials, and intervention programs. I support a recurring independent efficiency review to identify waste and redirect savings to students. I would also work to require transparent reporting so the board and public can see where funds go. Long term planning, conservative revenue assumptions, and clear priorities help maintain quality even in uncertain funding environments.
I have been involved through tutoring a Katy ISD student, supporting programs through the Lions Club, and engaging with educators and community members. I have also followed board decisions closely to understand how policy and budgeting impact classrooms and student outcomes.
I bring nonprofit executive leadership, board governance experience, and a record of managing budgets and partnerships. I understand the trustee role is governance, not micromanagement. My approach is to listen, analyze data, and make disciplined decisions. I focus on three questions: is it good for students, does it support teachers, and is it a responsible use of taxpayer dollars.
The board should maintain an open, respectful, and consistent relationship with the community. Listening cannot be limited to public comment. I would hold regular forums with teachers, parents, and students, use clear digital communication, and ensure transparency in decisions. I would also reinforce that parents have the right to guide their own child’s education while respecting others’ choices.
I will contribute by staying focused on governance, data, and outcomes. I will ask thoughtful questions, respect differing viewpoints, and support decisions once made. I will work to keep the board aligned on priorities, maintain clear boundaries with administration, and ensure we act as a team focused on students, teachers, and stewardship.
I chose to run because I believe strong schools are built on service, stewardship, and deep respect for the educators and parents who make student success possible. As a Katy ISD graduate, parent, and longtime community volunteer, I’m committed to protecting the excellence that has defined our district for generations.
Focus areas for our district include: safety and strong academics, sound financial planning, and caring for teachers and staff. These priorities matter. They matter because to have great schools we need safe classrooms and academics that compete, thoughtfully built budgets, and teachers and staff who feel valued and who view Katy ISD as a destination employer. My goals include making sure safety in our classrooms is a non-negotiable, advocating for fair state funding, identifying and redirecting inefficiency, and working closely with parents and staff. When these goals are met it means every student has the opportunity for academic success, parents feel heard and supported, and our educators who make it all possible feel rightly respected.
Responsible stewardship of our taxpayer provided funding requires decision makers to be honest about where spending can be reduced without harming classrooms. I would focus on protecting classroom instruction and safety first, keeping resources closest to students while scrutinizing nonessential spending. In my professional life, I’ve had to prioritize spending during down market cycles and I’d encourage practices that result in identifying and redirecting inefficiencies. I'd also encourage careful evaluation of whether to rehire positions not tied to direct student impact. Lastly, I’d advocate for fair state funding so we can maintain strong academic programs, support our educators, and steward taxpayer dollars responsibly.

I bring civic leadership, two decades of professional experience, and years of community service to the KISD Board. I serve on the City of Katy Planning & Zoning Commission and the Keep Katy Beautiful Board, roles requiring adherence to governance and crafting long-term vision. As a partner in a global consulting firm I hold operational and commercial leadership roles. My volunteer work includes leading a men’s faith‑based group and fundraising for Eagles Wings Zambia and the Manna House. These roles reflect my heart for servant leadership. This blend of experience shapes my focus: respecting educators, supporting student success, practicing disciplined financial stewardship, and strengthening partnerships with parents and the community.
The board should build a relationship rooted in humility, transparency, and listening. To do so means creating space for parents, teachers, students, and taxpayers to be heard and being present where real conversations happen. By weighing input with data, explaining the “why” behind decisions, and leading with integrity, we foster a trust that keeps Katy ISD strong. My vision is that communication, even on difficult topics, is respectful and represents the responsibility entrusted with us.
I will help build and maintain an effective board by leading with humility, preparation, and respect. I’ll listen to families and staff, focus on students achieving academic success, responsibly steward taxpayer funding, ask hard questions respectfully, and communicate the “why” behind decisions so trust and collaboration form the board's identity.
