The out-of-control spending and the lack of accountability in the Trustees office.
I have actually done the job, my experience of 18 years in the Trustees office has better prepared me than any other candidate. Nothing beats hands on experience.
1- Collect Property Tax
2- Deposit Property Tax
3-Invest idle funds as directed by the Knox County Investment Committee.
4- The Trustee also keeps detailed financial records and administers state funded Tax Relief Programs for the elderly, disabled, and veterans homeowners.
Accountability and Integrity. Accountability is taking ownership for your actions, decision, and behavior without shifting blame. Integrity is doing the right thing for the right reason. Nothing more nothing less.
1- Eliminate unnecessary spending.
2- This office will end the practice of political favor hiring.
3- Will adopt a policy that all employees and family cannot purchase any properties listed in the Tax Sale.
I will say what i do and i will do what i say.
As someone who has chosen a role in County Government as my professional career, I know the importance of employees and elected officials being transparent, trustworthy, accountable, and qualified for the positions they seek. Being a public servant means that you put the needs of the County and its citizens before your own, without question, every single time. The out-of-control spending and lack of trust our community has in the Trustee's office is what motivated me to run for trustee. I will put TRUST back in the Trustee's office.
My past leadership experience, institutional knowledge, education, and commitment to serving our County have prepared me to serve as the next Trustee.
The core responsibilities of the Trustee are to be a good financial steward of the County's finances, to be transparent and accountable, to collect taxes in a timely manner, and to maintain a good working relationship with other County offices.
I believe that leading by example with honesty and accountability, combined with my communication and problem-solving skills, makes me a successful office holder.
Day one, my first priority will be to eliminate the six luxury pickup trucks leased by the Trustee's office, followed by reducing the number of employees, eliminating wasteful spending, and, lastly, ensuring we hold at least one tax sale a year.
I am the only candidate with the experience and continued education to restore integrity and fix the numerous issues in this office.
