I am currently serving as Knox County Chairwoman for district 3. I am looking at a reelection to continue the work that I started 3-1/2 years ago.
I have been involved in local and state politics most of my adult life as a lifelong resident of Knox County I served as Cedar Bluff PTSA Legislative Chairperson, then VP and President of the PTSA. During that time I worked closely with my county commissioners and state reps to build the new Cedar Bluff Elementary School. I also helped other schools start a legislative committee across Knox County PTA's. I have sit on numerous boards in Knox County that gave me a perspective of many aspects of county government. I served on Knox County Ethic's Committee, Knox County Sheriff Employees Merit Council, and Knox County tax equalization board.
Knox County Commission is responsible for 5 areas which include Education, Infrastructure , Economic Development, Safety and Health.
I am able to work with my district and neighbors with open communication and timely responses. I work with county and city elected officials and staff to insure we are all working for the betterment of my district. I also have formed relationships with Knox County staff and dept., and I work closely with my state reps. Being readily available to constituents is a trait I hold with high regard as a local representative we are the boots on the ground for our constituents daily. I have a record of hosting over 12 community meetings. I always approach any obstacle in my district with an attitude of how we can make it better for the constituents.
Infrastructure, Law Enforcement, and water mitigation.
I want voters to remember I have been an active county commissioner throughout my district and the county. I feel my core responsibility is to represent my district as a whole and work for every citizen. I put people over politics, because at your local level the care and well being and safety is the most important job we are tasked with in this role. I will continue the work that has been started in district 3 with paving over 12 miles of road, water mitigation and bringing Andy's Frozen Custard to district 3 that has captured many sales dollars for Knox County and many jobs to our local residents. My responsibility is to work as hard as I can during my term to continue to focus on progress and make district 3 the best we can make it.
