Balanced development is the most important issue. As a former mayor and councilman, I've successfully guided the city through the challenges we face today. I believe in finding balance that allows growth while preserving the character of our neighborhoods and green spaces. This involves carful planning, engaging with the community, and ensuring that development aligns with the city's long-term vision. Tax incentives should be used judicially and only when necessary to attract significant economic development. Lee's Summit is a desirable place to live, work and do business. My experience has shown that quality economic development can be attracted without giving away too much in incentives.

I’m running because I love Lee’s Summit and want to continue serving my community. With 15 years of experience as the former mayor of Lee’s Summit and councilman, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of leadership. My experience has taught me the importance of balancing development with neighborhood preservation, ensuring transparency in government and supporting policies that attract private investment and economic growth. I believe my experience and sensibility can make a positive impact during this critical time. I’m committed to doing what’s in the best interest of the city.

Lee’s Summit is facing real budget pressure because of incentive programs that haven’t delivered. When projected tax revenue falls short, schools, fire, and police feel the squeeze—and residents are asked to make up the difference through higher fees and taxes.

We need to flip our approach: reward businesses that actually generate sales tax and payroll in Lee's Summit, not ones that promise results someday. That’s how we protect city services and taxpayers at the same time.

I’m running for City Council in Lee's Summit because I care deeply about our community and believe we need to refocus on supporting small businesses, modernizing city services, and making smarter decisions about large corporate incentives. Our city is special, and I want growth that protects our culture while delivering real value to residents.

My qualifications include 20+ years in technology leadership, owning and operating small businesses in the KC metro, and serving on my HOA board. These experiences give me a practical understanding of budgets, how policy affects local employers and families, and how to find root-cause solutions that work long term.
