Public Elected Offices Held Gladstone City Council (2011 to 2025)
Incumbent? YES or NO No
The most important issue for Gladstone is maintaining our City's infrastructure and our public safety. At this point in time, I can confidently say that both are in the best condition they have ever been. We have invested heavily in recent years in our streets, our water system, and in stormwater management. Gladstone's public safety staffing, facilities, equipment, training, and salaries are the best they have ever been. I am proud of having been a part of getting that done, including construction of the new Police Headquarters, the expansion of Fire Station #2, and providing competitive salaries for our first responders. If re-elected, I will continue to support and prioritize our infrastructure and public safety.
I was appointed to the Gladstone City Council in 2011. I won election in 2012, and was re-elected in 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2022. I ran for re-election in 2025, and lost by 39 votes.

After 13 years on City Council, I was very disappointed with last year’s election results. A few days after the election, my opponent was disqualified for unpaid taxes. Under Missouri law, that resulted in a vacancy on the Council. I continued to serve until the City Council could appoint someone to fill the vacancy until the next municipal election.

I am running to complete the term of office I ran for last year. My opponent last year was dishonest, and brought partisan politics into our City Council race. Part of the reason I decided to run is because our City's infrastructure and public safety are too important, and because our City Council must remain strictly non-partisan.

(Note: To be clear, my criticism is for my opponent in last year's election, not my opponent in this year's race.)

As a candidate for Gladstone City Council, I see several key challenges. We must secure sustainable funding to improve roads and public utilities. Public safety remains a top priority, including investing in modern EMS equipment and retaining highly trained personnel. We also need clear rules and thoughtful planning to support middle housing for young families and seniors. Finally, strengthening economic development by attracting employers and expanding quality housing and retail options is essential for long-term growth.

My plan is to advocate for state and federal infrastructure funding, ensure our EMS has the latest tools and training, collaborate on ordinances that responsibly expand middle housing, and partner with businesses to recruit employers and build vibrant commercial spaces. Together, we can keep Gladstone strong, safe, and growing.
I am running for office to ensure every resident of Gladstone has a voice at the table, that our Council reflects the diversity of our community, and to bring a thoughtful, fresh perspective to city government. As a Vice President and commercial banker with nearly a decade of experience, I work daily with business owners and understand economic development, responsible budgeting, and long-term planning.

I currently serve on the Gladstone City Council and have volunteered with the City since buying my first home here nearly eight years ago. I also serve on several nonprofit boards and volunteer with organizations including Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, Missouri Master Gardeners, Feed Northland Kids, Kanbe’s Markets, and mentor a UMKC student through Banking Leaders of Tomorrow. I hold a B.S. in International Business from Valparaiso University and have a lifelong record of community involvement.
