I was raised in Will County, and most of my family lives here. I received my Master of Applied Economics from Marquette University in 2017. I have spent my whole career working in or alongside government to make it more accessible and transparent for the people that it supports, and the taxpayers that enable it to support those people. I think government works best when it works for all of us, regardless of race, color, or creed, and I intend to be the most accessible member of the Will County Board that I can be.
I worked in DC from 2017 to 2025 making the Department of Defense run just a little bit better than how I found it, whether it was better supporting injured or disabled service members receiving their benefits in week instead of years, reservists put on active duty that were previously unsure about the nature of their orders and associated benefits, or taxpayers that wanted to know that their tax dollars were being spent wisely. I want to bring that national experience to make my community a better place for workers and families.
There is an affordability crisis in this county and the country at large. As a millennial, I am acutely aware of how out of reach homeownership can feel to people. I think we need to do a better job attracting good paying jobs, so folks can afford to live in the communities they work. Along with that, we need to continue to invest in our infrastructure to make the county more attractive for businesses and families to move into.
In District 3, one unique challenge we face is the lack of choice in grocery stores. Tens of thousands of residents either have no options, or a single option for getting groceries in their community. If they are unhappy with that single option, they would need to get on the expressway and either leave the district, the county, or even the state to find their next closest option. We can and should do better at attracting grocery stores to these communities to give families real choices, and to make sure our tax revenue stays local.
This is not a law enforcement agency. They aren’t making America safer, they are making Americans feel scared. They are murdering American citizens in the streets and then lying to all of us about it. In my home township, ICE abducted a man that was in line to pick up his child from school. They threatened to break his windshield with his 4 year old in the back seat. These aren’t the actions of an organization that is trying to keep America safe. As a Will County Board member, I will make sure we continue to forbid ICE operations on County property, and I will use my position to pressure local governments and agencies to do the same.
I was raised entirely by women. My family consists of my mom, my sister, my sister in law, my niece, my aunt, and my grandmother. Being the only man in a family of women has fundamentally shaped my world view. Women’s issues are incredibly important to me, and I will be an ally to women on the County Board.

I am a lifelong resident of the south suburbs. I graduated from Marian Catholic in 1974, received a BA from Eastern Illinois University in 1978 and an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1990. I worked for a financial data firm on LaSalle Street for 29 years. Subsequently, I was a founding member of a fintech start-up, and retired as Director of Operations in 2022. I have been a county board member since 2019. Previous elected offices include the Steger-SCH library board, and the Steger Village Board.
I have been on the Will County Board since 2019. I was initially appointed, then re-elected in 2020 (2-year term) and 2022 (4-year term). I believe my experience as an elected official on Will County and various other boards combined with my educational background makes me well-qualified to serve. I look at issues from a problem-solving standpoint, and understand the importance of building relationships with both staff and my fellow board members.
1) Economic Development. Will County is a hub for transportation, energy, and health care, among other sectors. We need to ensure that our residents get the education and training needed for these careers, plus create policies that benefit the small businesses that support these industries. We also need growth in the skilled trades to keep up with the development demand.
2) Maintaining and improving infrastructure. I support improving major roads to accommodate increased traffic volumes. We have added new positions to better manage truck traffic to reduce the impact to our neighborhoods.
3)Improving services to the Eastern part of the county. I'm working to establish a satellite Clerk office and expand community outreach services.
My district is divided between suburban and very rural. This is very much a balancing act between much-needed jobs and maintaining the rural character of the district. I generally look at what benefit a particular project brings to the district as a whole, as well as what legal obligations the board has, as in the case of solar farms. I try to educate myself as much as possible about both sides, and make a decision based on the facts, not emotions or personalities. It’s very important to keep an open line of communication.
Will County is not a Home Rule county, so we are obligated to follow the laws of the State of Illinois. I support our state immigration laws and policies. ICE needs to respect the constitutional rights of all of our residents, and the rule of law. That includes the right to arrest and detain actual criminals. It does not include widespread detention of people based on skin color or language. They must be held accountable just like any other law enforcement or military agency.
As a county board member, I have made only one promise to my constituents – that I will listen, and ultimately vote for what I believe is best for my district, based on facts and science. I’m not afraid to make the tough votes, and am always willing to explain to residents why I voted the way I did on any particular issue. I currently serve as Finance Chair, and have fought for a balanced budget that didn’t cut services.
