I am an Arlington native, mother and grandmother with broad life experience and a proven record of integrity, hard work and community service. My civic engagement extends beyond the courtroom, connecting people and resources through collaboration. With 12 years presiding over Tarrant County’s highest-volume court and 300+ hours of specialized judicial training, I have the experience and commitment to continue serving as JP.
Our Court prioritizes access to justice through flexible scheduling, virtual appearances, e-filing, continuances, and translation resources. I explain court procedures so litigants understand what to expect. Our collaborative Pre-Trial Docket further reduces missed work and delays by helping parties actively resolve disputes, resulting in a 95%+ mutually agreeable resolution rate while making the Court more accessible, efficient and responsive.
With due respect for the question, JP2 routinely achieves the lowest pending cases with the highest volume in the county, last year alone working nearly 20,000 new filings, 155,000+ case touchpoints, 15,000+ calls and 10,000+ counter customers. We lead with a heart for our people through service-facing leadership, disciplined systems and smart use of technology to give every party dignity, patience and fairness under the law. That is our daily commitment that keeps us humble and working hard.
Campaign donations support campaigns—not outcomes in the courtroom. From the day I took the bench, my oath has required me to apply the law fairly and impartially to everyone, regardless of who supported, opposed or contributed to my campaign. Judicial independence means every person enters my courtroom on equal footing and receives the same dignity, respect and fair application of the law.
The most pressing issue is electing a qualified judge with proven experience managing a high-volume court. JP2 handles nearly 20,000 cases annually, demanding strong leadership, preparation and sound judgment. Voters should examine each candidate’s relevant experience and record. After more than a decade on the bench, I remain committed to managing JP2 efficiently, applying the law fairly and serving every resident with integrity.

District Director
Professionally, I am a District Director for Councilwoman Deborah Peoples. I am a former community college educator with two Masters degrees and maintain membership in the Texas Community College Teachers Association. I’ve graduated Leadership Arlington/Texas/America and the APD Citizens Police Academy. I served as Justice of the Peace in Brazos County for four years.
I’ve worked with all types of people during my career teaching at local community colleges while raising my family and then serving as Justice of the Peace in Brazos County for four years. In addition, I have served in several leadership roles as a Martin HS PTSA Board & Booster Band Member, AISD Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, School Library Advisory Council, Calendar Review Committee, and as an Academic Recruiter at UT Arlington. I’ll work with all JP 2 residents to ensure justice is served.
I am running to help improve the well-being of our community on issues of affordability and public safety. Precinct 2 needs a more accessible court options like night court so working families don’t have to miss work or rearrange childcare just to be heard. Eviction court fairness to make sure tenants and property owners are both heard fairly before life-changing decisions are made.
One of my top priorities is reducing backlog of cases. Precinct 2 needs a more accessible and efficient court. For example, providing night court daytime Zoom hearings for residents who work 8-5 ensures to access to the court without missed work hours. I will work to develop a Citizens Justice of the Peace Academy to help the public better understand the justice of the peace courts. I pledge to carry out my duties with fairness and dignity for all.
I am compassionate to the needs of others and courteous to all. I am open minded and sensitive to the needs of others. As a mother of a 17 year old son, I practice patience on a daily basis. Because of these qualities, I am the candidate better suited to serve the best interest of Precinct 2. I have raised campaign contributions from grassroots donors who are family, friends, and community members.
I will educate parties of their legal rights and court procedures to reduce the need for lawyers and to work with non-profits to provide rental assistance and mediation services. JP 2 will provide an occupational driver’s license program and night court, including possibly Saturday and online hearing court options. I will provide all written communication in Spanish and English routinely. Additionally, I will display a clear schedule of all fines/fees and waiver/reduction instructions.
