Texas schools are chronically underfunded. We must raise the basic allotment of per pupil funding to reduce recapture, lower property taxes, and ensure every student has the quality educational opportunities our families deserve. We should repeal the costly voucher scam, move to an enrollment-based funding model, and ensure any mandate from the state comes with sufficient funding attached.
We should invest in wind, solar, and clean-energy jobs; prioritize water conservation; improve recapture and reuse; repair aging pipes; and address transmission congestion. We must protect residents from environmental hazards and hold corporate polluters accountable. I’m also opposed to attacks on local environmental ordinances that protect our trees, endangered species, and water.
I support Medicaid expansion; driving down the costs of health insurance and prescription drugs; and addressing the shortage of doctors, nurses, and specialists. We must invest in reproductive healthcare and family planning. I’ll also work to reverse Texas’ abortion ban, ensure Planned Parenthood can receiveTitle X funding, and demand real accountability on so-called “crisis pregnancy centers.”
I support a moratorium on data centers unless we have proper regulatory frameworks. Data centers should pay their fair share through impact fees, meet strong mitigation requirements, use on-site renewable generation, and have closed-loop cooling using recycled water. I support transparency, accountability, and meaningful community input. We should repeal the costly tax subsidy for data centers.
