Thank you to the teachers in my family and district education leaders. Solutions begin by bringing the people with boots on the ground into the conversation to understand our challenges and opportunities. I will lead by bringing stakeholders and education leaders together via transparency and mutual respect to pass reform that reliably funds our schools to make Texas education the best.
The legislature will need to move forward allocating the Water Fund as approved by voters to study water usage, repair antiquated systems and expand conservation of aquifers and watersheds. We need to continue to invest in upgrading power transmission and demand response systems while managing costs. We need strategic planning policy for innovation and conservation that balances growth with costs.
As the only obgyn in the legislature, I will promote evidence-based policies informed by real experience caring for women. I will propose policies that reduce administrative costs and hurdles to directly reduce premiums, that improve the healthcare landscape so we can recruit doctors and nurses and reduce appointment wait times, and that support our world-class medical institutions.
I grew up across the street from NASA and earned my degree in electrical engineering from UT before medical school. I believe in the ingenuity of Texans to again lead the world in innovation while protecting natural resources. I will work with industry experts to establish responsible frameworks for development that not only conserve but also cost contain and protect Texans financially.

Attorney. Mom. Chief of Staff for this district for four years. Former Travis County Democratic Party Chair. Wrote bills, passed laws, helped residents across the district. Ready to serve on day one.
Protecting public education is a top priority for me. Texas needs to raise the basic allotment, adequately pay teachers and staff, roll back vouchers, and fully fund special education. We also must reform recapture. Our community schools should not be shutting down while sending local tax dollars away. Every student deserves better, but it starts with the Legislature investing in our kids.
Texas should invest in repairing aging water infrastructure, reducing water loss, supporting wildfire mitigation, and expanding conservation and reuse, including purple pipe systems. We need enough generation and storage to keep the grid reliable, including renewable energy. I also support incentives for homeowners to make energy-efficiency improvements that lower their electric bills.
Making healthcare more affordable and accessible is a top priority for me. I support the following: expanding Medicaid and CHIP so more Texas children have coverage; lowering prescription drug costs; increasing the number of doctors and healthcare providers in Texas; protecting IVF and maternal healthcare; and expanding telehealth and mental health programs like TCHATT.
I support a pause on major new data centers while Texas puts clear regulations in place. We need to understand what these projects mean for our water supply, electric grid, and natural resources before they are built. Texas communities deserve to know how much water and power the data centers will use, whether our infrastructure can support them, and have a voice in these decisions.
