What is your approach to federal infrastructure investment, and how would you prioritize funding for energy, transportation, flood mitigation, and resilience needs in your district?
If elected to office, what will you do to address rising costs, especially with regard to groceries, childcare, and housing?
What is your position on federal immigration enforcement and detention policies? What specific changes, if any, would you support to how those policies are implemented?
What changes, if any, to current laws related to voter registration, voter ID, and mail-in ballots would you support and why?
Infrastructure must improve public safety, strengthen our economy, and prepare our communities for future growth. The fast growth in CD 22 has brought real opportunity but has also placed heavy demands on our roads, drainage systems, utilities, and emergency infrastructure. I would prioritize transportation investment by expanding roadway capacity to ease congestion. I would push federal infrastructure dollars toward regional drainage, flood control, and resilient water systems. Energy reliability matters just as much and must be addressed. Infrastructure is an investment in safety, growth, and the long-term success of every community in this district. I will fight to make sure it is built and paid for responsibly.
The first thing I would do is vote to end this war and those tariffs. They are both contributing to our rising costs. Too many families are choosing between groceries, childcare, housing and healthcare. Affordable childcare is essential for families. I support expanding childcare tax credits and investing in early childhood education. Housing affordability is one of the greatest challenges facing our district. I also support programs that help first time homebuyers and programs that preserve affordable housing for seniors and working families. Government's job is to create conditions where families and businesses can succeed. My goal is to strengthen the middle class by expanding opportunities and helping families build financial security.
We must have strong border security while treating every person with dignity and respect. Border communities deserve the personnel, technology, and infrastructure necessary to carry out that mission effectively. Due process is important. We need to increase the number of immigration judges, asylum officers, and support personnel to resolve cases efficiently. We need comprehensive immigration reform that modernizes legal immigration. It must protect Dreamers and create a pathway to citizenship for long term undocumented immigrants who meet strict requirements. It must improve the efficiency of our asylum system. Our immigration laws should reflect both our commitment to public safety and our nation's values. That’s what I will fight for.
Protecting voting rights and election integrity are essential. We need to expand online registration through qualified government agencies. I support reasonable voter identification requirements. Every eligible voter must have meaningful access to a free government issued ID. Election laws should never create unnecessary barriers. Early voting should be as convenient as possible for every eligible voter. I support adding more early voting days and longer daily hours, including weekend and holiday access. Mail in voting should be secure, transparent, and accessible for eligible voters. Appropriate safeguards against fraud must remain in place. Every eligible voter should be able to cast a ballot, and every lawful ballot should be counted.
