I have been a United Methodist Minister for over 43 years, 40 1/2 full-time. I have acted in Numerous intense ministries; I have loved and ministered to the needy, the wealthy, and all those between.
First, I would quit DEFUNDING them through the voucher system! Moreover, I would find ways to not tie further defunding to property taxes. The Billionaires of Texas have no-tax deals that have cost the state of Texas HUGE sums of money. I'd also advocate more state assistance and examine Economic Stabilization Fund usage. But I'd end Billionaire Governance and deals defund most Texas children.
For electrical issues, I believe the Data Centers should pay for ALL the energy infrastructure they require. Second, they should not be given favorable electricity rates and be free from taxes. Third, our grid must be dependable and affordable. For water, I advocate more water conservation districts for counties, state-wide water oversight and environmental projects, and fair, long-term planning
First I would quit turning down Medicare funds that are dispensed 10 to 1. I would do what I could at the state level to restore ACA provisions that have been watered down or eliminated. If possible I would strongly advocate a strong TSHIP (Texas State Health Insurance Program) that minimized the self-serving role of "for profit" health-care costs and medical decisions. Also, aid rural hospitals.
Data Centers are the result of Billionaire Governance in Austin. They are being rammed down the throats of Texans without taxation, minimal costs to the billionaires and maximum costs to the rest of us. They should pay taxes! They should pay for the electrical infrastructure they require. They should only be allowed in if the local voters vote them in. The cooling should protect local water.
