I bring more than 34 years of law enforcement experience, including 20 years with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, where I serve as a Sergeant and have spent two decades serving the Precinct 4 community. I hold a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Leadership & Management, and am a Master Peace Officer, TCOLE instructor, and longtime adjunct professor of criminal justice, including court systems and processes. My experience in leadership and public service has prepared me to evaluate facts objectively, apply the law fairly, communicate clearly, make sound decisions, and treat every person with dignity and respect. I would bring experience, integrity, patience, and a commitment to fair and impartial justice to the JP bench.
I will promote efficient resolution of small claims and landlord-tenant disputes through clear court procedures, mediation, appropriate resources, and remote appearance options when permitted. I will encourage eviction diversion programs and voluntary Rule 11 agreements before eviction proceedings. These agreements can provide opportunities for tenants to remain housed while landlords receive amounts owed. In eviction cases, I will apply the law impartially, ensure both parties are heard, and work to reduce avoidable defaults. My goal is timely resolution that protects due process, property rights, and the dignity of all parties.
