What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?

Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the nation. What steps would you take as a state representative to ensure access to affordable healthcare, including mental health services, for residents who are currently uninsured or underserved in your district?

What measures would you support to ensure adequate state funding for public schools and accountability for taxpayer funds used in voucher or education savings account programs?

What are the two most pressing issues unique to your district, and what specific, measurable actions would you take to address them during your term?

At sixteen years old I began my first job at a local restaurant. Returning home from my high school and preparing myself to be a server to others. During my junior year of college I scheduled my courses to take place on Tuesday and Thursday so that I could work overnight Monday, Wednesday and Friday as the supervisor of vulnerable patients. More recently, I’ve dedicated the last 4 years of my life to being a stay at home mother to three beautiful children while matriculating graduate studies. My experiences as a stay at home mother, a healthcare professional and a service worker are a reflection of my obligation to society, to care for others and to prioritize what feels most important to them… to advocate for all.
As state representative I would promote access to affordable healthcare, including mental health services, for uninsured, underserved residents by fighting to ensure that every Texan has access to affordable healthcare. Texans desperately need a single-payer system.
A measure I would support to ensure adequate state funding for public schools is simple, allocate funding. Educators are an essential part of our community, state funds should support them fully.
There are many issues unique to District 150 though the most pressing to this area would be utility prices and flood management. While our streets rise in water after small amounts of rain, we suffer by paying the cost.
I bring extensive experience in elections, public service, and leadership. I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and have served as an Election Judge, Precinct Chair for 23 years, and State Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 7 from 2006–2014. For the past 10 years, I have served as a State Representative, gaining valuable institutional knowledge and serving on key committees, including Elections. My legislative experience has strengthened my ability to understand complex issues, develop sound policy, and serve Texans effectively. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, I understand the needs and challenges facing Texas families and remain committed to integrity, service, and responsible leadership.
I believe healthcare should be affordable, accessible, and driven by patient choice, not government mandates. As a State Representative, I would support policies that increase competition, promote price transparency, expand primary and preventive care, and reduce regulations that drive up costs. I would work with local providers, churches, nonprofits, and community health centers to connect underserved Texans with resources. Mental health services should be accessible through local solutions focused on early intervention and crisis care. I would pursue fiscally responsible solutions that expand access while protecting taxpayers, individual freedom, and the doctor-patient relationship.
When taxpayer dollars are involved, I believe the same expectations for responsible spending, transparency, and accountability should apply whether funds go to a public school district or an Education Savings Account program. I support clear financial reporting, regular audits, and reasonable accountability measures to ensure taxpayer funds are spent appropriately across all education programs. Families should have the freedom to choose the educational option that best fits their children, while taxpayers should have confidence that their money is managed with integrity. My goal is to support student success, protect taxpayer dollars, and ensure consistent accountability for all programs receiving public funds.
Two pressing issues in my district are property taxes and affordability. I would work to lower the cost of living through meaningful property tax relief, reducing unnecessary government spending, and protecting homeowners from being taxed out of their homes. I would support greater transparency and accountability in local government budgets while seeking ways to ease the burden on working families, seniors, and small businesses. Measurable goals include property tax relief, cutting wasteful spending, and advancing free-market policies that reduce housing costs while holding government accountable to taxpayers. My goal is to make Texas more affordable while protecting taxpayers and encouraging responsible growth.
