Federal infrastructure investments should focus on projects that improve public safety and strengthen our economy. I will work with local municipalities and state officials to address the infrastructure needs of Texas 38, prioritizing transportation improvements, flood mitigation, and resilient infrastructure. Additionally, we must invest in American industry by expanding energy infrastructure, supporting domestic energy production, and creating good-paying American jobs. Infrastructure should serve the communities it represents and ensure that Texas 38 remains competitive, secure, and economically strong.
With over two decades of combined experience in real estate, my wife, Laura, and I understand the challenges families are facing. Rising housing costs, groceries, and childcare are downstream effects of broader economic and tax policies. As a mortgage banker, I’ve seen how burdensome regulations and property taxes make homeownership harder to afford. My background in oil and gas has shown me how American energy dominance helps lower the cost of producing and transporting everyday goods, including groceries. I will fight wasteful spending, reduce unnecessary regulations, support American energy dominance, and pursue tax policies that make housing and everyday life more affordable for working families.
Federal immigration enforcement is essential to protecting our nation’s sovereignty, security, and rule of law. A secure border requires more than physical barriers; it requires consistent enforcement of the laws that govern who enters and remains in our nation. I will support policies that empower federal agencies to enforce immigration laws, detain individuals who enter or remain in the U.S. unlawfully, and prioritize the removal of those who pose a threat to our communities. A nation’s laws only have meaning when enforced. When enforcement is abandoned, sovereignty is weakened, public trust declines, and law-abiding Americans are left to bear the consequences.
Securing our elections starts with strengthening our voter registration process and protecting the integrity of our ballots once they are cast. Non-citizens have been found on voter rolls across the country, and some have even voted in past elections. These instances undermine confidence in our elections and highlight the need for stronger safeguards to ensure only eligible voters are participating. We must protect the integrity of every ballot and ensure our election systems are secure, transparent, and accountable. Every legal vote should count, and every American should have confidence that our elections are secure and administered with integrity.
I approach infrastructure by ensuring corporations pay their fair share and expanding Buy America policies. In TX-CD 38, flood mitigation is personal to me; I will help pass a budget that fully funds FEMA and enforce the National Environmental Policy Act. To secure our energy grid, we must incorporate ERCOT into the national grid and maintain federal transparency, mandatory transmission planning, regional coordination, and transparent pricing. I support robust public transit, including moving my congressional offices to transit-accessible locations, and a regulated approach to autonomous vehicles with clear safety standards and human oversight. In order to do all of this, we must return the system of checks and balances in Congress.
To tackle rising costs, I am committed to addressing the cost-of-living crisis through structural change. Since housing is a human right, I support bold federal investments in affordable workforce housing, strong tenant protections, and limiting corporate home ownership. To lower grocery bills, I will work to rein in corporate price-gouging and protect SNAP benefits. For childcare, I support a "Cost of Living" tax cut to eliminate federal taxes up to the cost of living for single adults, alongside legislation limiting childcare costs. By raising wages and making the wealthy pay their fair share, Our economy will work for those who create the value. In order to do this, let's return the system of checks and balance to Congress. No wars.
I have deep concerns about immigration enforcement that obscures officer identities, which erodes public trust. To restore accountability, I support refocusing ICE strictly on its original mission of handling undocumented individuals who commit heinous crimes. I will work to limit ICE's tenfold ballooning budget and reinstate strong checks and balances to prevent abuses of power. Furthermore, because borders are a federal responsibility, enforcement must be consistent across all states. I support establishing federally sponsored Welcome Centers to streamline legal paths for asylum seekers, expanding work visas, and ensuring seamless agency cooperation.
I support reforming our system to make voting fit real life. I will advocate for automatic and same-day voter registration, expanding early voting, and making vote-by-mail accessible to more citizens. Drawing on my hands-on experience in election administration, I support reforms allowing people to vote in any precinct, use drive-up handicap-accessible voting, and easily submit mail-in ballots. I also support co-sponsoring the For the People Act and oppose suppressive voter restrictions. Ultimately, if we can do banking on our devices, we should be allowed to vote from them too.

Our infrastructure is in need of an overhaul. Luckily, this presents an opportunity to build more sustainable systems in their place that will last generations! I listen to what voters want and the evidence is clear, the people support clean energy, investment in public transportation, and roads that won't flood in a light shower. All of these things contribute to lowering our costs and strengthening our nation. We need energy independence through clean energy, we need safe communities connected through public transport, and we need emergency-ready infrastructure. Most importantly, we need an outsider, a fighter that will advocate for all of us in Congress and I, Alex McMenemy, am not a man that will go down without a fight!
Our tax dollars should be used to support our citizens through hard economic times and protect us from economic shock, but right now the only people my opponents will protect are the same ones raising rent and profiting from our misfortune. To build a strong nation, we must make sure all of us are cared for and protected. That means working towards free universal healthcare and childcare so that people don't put off going to the doctor or dread having to pay sky-high childcare costs, free or low-cost higher education and student loan forgiveness to remove the chains of debt weighing down on us, and enshrining housing as a human right because so many of us are one missed paycheck away from homelessness. We must demand the lives we deserve!
Immigration is a subject of much debate, but one thing we should all agree on is that human rights can not be disregarded. A better world is possible, a world where we can process and accept people that give up everything just to call themselves Americans. That is the world we must work towards if we want to call ourselves the greatest nation. I believe that in order to achieve that world, we must abolish ICE, close the concentration camps, and hold everyone who has been in these organizations accountable. We cannot allow the government to freely pick and choose who they can enact violence upon because if we do, there is nothing to stop them turning their sights on us. A world where tyranny is resisted must be fought for!
We're told our founders wanted to build a government of, by, and for the people. Many experts believe our problem is not that too many people vote, but instead too few. Our average voter turnout rate is consistently one of the lowest compared to our peers, and part of that is because our politicians are listening to corrupt dark money sources rather than the American people. I take no corporate money and am committed to building your political power through things like overturning the Citizens United ruling that opened the floodgates for political corruption, and introducing a bill that would allow for any public official to be removed from office in a recall election. We, the people, must take our government back from corporate corruption!
