VOTE411 Voter Guide

State Representative, District 15

The Texas House of Representatives is one of two chambers that make up the Texas Legislature. The representative is one of 150 representatives from separate districts across the state. Working with the Texas Senate, the Texas House considers proposed laws and resolutions, considers proposed constitutional amendments for submission to the voters, appropriates all funds for the operation of state government, and periodically redraws federal and state congressional maps. All bills for raising revenue considered by the legislature must originate in the House of Representatives. The House alone can bring impeachment charges against a statewide officer, which charges must be tried by the Senate. Current annual salary: $7,200, plus $221 for every day the Legislature is in session, including any special sessions. Term: Two (2) years

I am honored to serve as Chairman of The Woodlands Township Board. My background as a small business owner, local official, and industry executive has shown me how to deliver results: cutting property taxes with our first homestead exemption, expanding public safety funding, and fighting every day to make sure Montgomery County is the best place to live and work in Texas.
Woodlands Township Board Chairman, former Councilman, waste industry exec, and small business owner with proven results cutting taxes, expanding public safety, and fighting for HD 15.
I will fight to keep public classrooms fully funded while prioritizing core academics, supporting teachers, and empowering parents through expanded school choice. Having fought locally to keep schools close to home, I will protect children from inappropriate content and ensure parents remain the ultimate decision makers in their children's education.
We must increase pricing transparency, cut the inventory tax on medication, and ensure those savings reach patients. Expanding access to care and empowering Texas families with more choices will lower costs without sacrificing quality. I will also hold utility companies accountable during disasters to prevent secondary healthcare emergencies and keep critical care facilities running.
Every vote in Texas must be secured through strong voter verification laws and strict penalties for fraud. We need strong border and citizenship protections, including expanding programs like 287(g) and ICE coordination, to guarantee only U.S. citizens participate. Illegal voting must not threaten the integrity of our elections.
As Township Chairman of The Woodlands, a top 10 Texas city for lowest property tax rates, I passed our first Homestead Exemption to provide real tax relief. In Austin, I will fight to cut property taxes, cap spending hikes, and slash red tape. By defending Texas land from foreign enemies, securing our water, and supporting local business, we will bring high-paying jobs to communities left behind.
We must protect our water at all costs before allowing data center expansion. Strict state oversight is needed to defend local communities and their resources. Additionally, we must bar foreign adversaries like China from buying land near key facilities, require high-volume energy users to support grid reliability, and ensure Texas water supplies are not drained.
As a leader in Montgomery County who held utilities accountable after Hurricane Beryl, I support an all-of-the-above energy strategy prioritizing dispatchable power like natural gas. We must strengthen our grid infrastructure against extreme weather, cut regulatory burdens on domestic producers, and safeguard Texas water and land resources for future generations.

I’m a lifelong Montgomery County resident, a wife, a mother, and a Senior Project Manager. I’m running because I believe government should serve the people, not partisan politics or political machines. Texans deserve fiscal responsibility, personal freedom, honest leadership, and the freedom to live and let live.
My career as a project manager has taught me how to manage budgets, solve problems, improve efficiency, and be accountable for results. My years of political involvement have also taught me how to read the fine print, listen and build consensus, and stand on principle even when it's unpopular. Austin has plenty of lawyers; it's time for a project manager who knows "scope creep" when she sees it.
Every child deserves access to a quality education, and every taxpayer deserves accountability. I support funding students rather than bureaucracies, greater transparency for every education dollar, and meaningful audits of programs receiving public funds. Parents - not politicians - should have the freedom to choose the education that works best for their children.
The U.S. healthcare system needs an overhaul. Some "do now" items I would support include: 1) reducing unnecessary regulations, 2) increasing price transparency and 3) removing other barriers to affordable care. For mental health, we should expand access to community-based services and focus taxpayer resources on people who genuinely need help.
Political parties should compete on ideas, not use election laws and ballot-access requirements to protect their own political power. I support independent redistricting commissions and alternate voting methods such as ranked choice or approval voting. Elections should remain secure and auditable with transparent procedures. All eligible voters should have reasonable access to voting.
The best economic development program is a government that gets out of the way. The State of Texas budget has increased 42% over the past two legislative sessions, and this MUST be reined in so we can work toward property tax elimination. Texas must support entrepreneurship and respect property rights. Communities prosper when they are free to build, invest, and innovate.
Texas needs to treat water as a precious resource without turning it into a political football. I support free market solutions that encourage responsible water use while respecting property rights and private ownership. Communities need infrastructure to support growth, but developers should help pay for the infrastructure their projects require (not shift those costs to Texas taxpayers).
Texans have a right to privacy and to live their lives without being constantly tracked by their government. I oppose mass surveillance systems that collect and retain data on law-abiding citizens. To that end, I have drafted the Texas Automatic License Plate Reader Prohibition Act. This would be one of the strongest state-level bans on ALPR surveillance in the country.
