Shall the municipality approve the charter amendment summarized below?This amendment would provide for two additional Board of Health members, so that the Board of Health wouldhave five members instead of three. One of the two new members would be a registered nurse, and the otherwould be a licensed social worker.The Nashua City Charter shall be amended by adding the new underlined language to Charter Section 78 asfollows:“§ 78. Board of Health, how chosenThe board of aldermen on the first secular day of January, 1915, shall elect a board of health, to be composed ofthree members, whose terms of office shall be for one year, and on the first secular day of January in 1916 andthereafter biennially on said first secular day of January following the regular municipal election through the endof 2025, they shall elect said board of health for the term of two years, to be composed of three members, twoof who shall be physicians. On the first secular day of January in 2026 following the regular municipal election,and thereafter biennially, the board of aldermen shall elect said board of health for the term of two years, to becomposed of five members, two of who shall be physicians, one who shall be a registered nurse, and one whoshall be a licensed social worker.”
