Shall the Borough of Helmetta be authorized to increase the maximum annual contribution to the Length of Service Awards Program (LOSAP) for volunteer members of the Helmetta Volunteer Fire Department from $400.00 to $500.00?Interpretation: A “yes” vote will authorize the Borough of Helmetta to increase the annual deferred compensation payment provided to qualified volunteer firefighters under the LOSAP program from $400.00 to $500.00. The program is designed to reward loyal and active volunteer service. Because this increase exceeds the Consumer Price Index (CPI) threshold allowed by statute, voter approval is required.
