A local school board plays a vital role in shaping the quality and direction of public education within the community. Key responsibilities include, Setting district policies that guide operations and educational priorities, Hiring and evaluating the Superintendent and Treasurer to ensure strong leadership and financial stewardship, Reviewing and approving the five-year financial forecast to maintain fiscal responsibility, Ensuring curriculum and academic standards are met or improved to support student achievement and Engaging with the community to reflect local values and build trust in the district’s mission.
I am the best person to fill this role because I bring experience, dedication and a clear understanding of our district’s needs and priorities. I will remain committed to strengthening core instruction, guiding our district toward sustainable growth with collaborative mindset and serving with integrity and focus.
I believe Academic Focus should be our highest priority, with a strong emphasis on English Language Arts and Math across all grade levels. Student mental health is closely tied to absenteeism, particularly in the upper grades, and addressing this connection is essential to improving attendance and overall well-being.
It’s widely recognized within our community that we need a new middle school. I’m optimistic that through the Community Survey and our Strategic Planning process, we’ll gain clearer insights and direction on how to move forward effectively.
For the North Fork Local School District to be truly grow and make a lasting impact, we need to focus on three key areas, Securing consistent and reliable funding through the renewal of local tax levies to support academic programs, staffing and facility needs, Modernizing our middle school, a recognized priority with the community, to provide students with a updated and inspiring learning environment and Listening to and incorporating community input through our strategic planning process to ensure that our district growth reflects the values and needs of those we serve.
North Fork Schools serves all students—regardless of background, income, or ability; with strong student support maintaining a student -teacher ratio of 14:1 allowing for personalized instruction and strong relationships between students and educators.
