I am the best candidate for this position because my personal and professional experiences give me a unique perspective on decisions impacting our city. My family and I have lived in various parts of White Bear Lake, including apartments, townhomes, and our current house, which has given me insight into the diverse needs of our residents. As a former public school teacher of ten years and the spouse of a firefighter and Marine veteran, I deeply understand the value of service and the importance of supporting the public good. I am committed to helping White Bear Lake remain a thriving, inclusive community for current and future generations. I look forward to the opportunity to serve.
My priorities are sustainability, supporting first responders, and improving access to mutual aid. I support practical, cost-effective efforts to protect our environment. As a fire family, I value first responders and believe in supporting those who care for our community. I also recognize the importance of mutual aid and will work to expand opportunities and improve communication with local nonprofits and grassroots groups.
Having been a public school science teacher for ten years, I’ve worked with over 1,000 students and their families. I know how to work with people from all walks of life and how to build community. I believe every voice deserves to be heard. My family bridges many different groups in White Bear Lake. My spouse and I are an interracial couple raising bilingual children who speak Spanish and English. I’m also a working mom married to a Marine veteran who was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
I will actively seek public input and demonstrate that feedback is heard and addressed. I guarantee that I will show up when you need me. While I value formal opportunities for public input, I will also create informal, accessible events such as coffee chats and community gatherings so residents feel comfortable sharing their views. By being approachable and engaged in all settings, I will foster open communication and build trust between city government and the community.
