Volunteer & Community Service President of Running Rockets, Coach HS Cross Country, Serve in the Army National Guard.
This question is easy to answer for me because I have been serving on City Council since 2017 and have been a part of the progress the city has been experiencing. Many years ago, I feel that a good group of leaders came together and started implementing real strategies on how we can accomplish the things we can to see in the city. From those early conversations, we have now been able to build things such as the Fire Station, Splash Pad, City Hall, Community Center and so much more. Along with those accomplishments, the city has invested heavily in infrastructure improvements and in our parks. If reelected, or to future leaders of our city, the best way to get things done is to work together for the common vision. We are all working towards the same goal, and that's to make Streetsboro a great place to live.
The major challenge most cities face would be financial issues. Streetsboro seems to always overcome those challenges by being fiscally responsible. However, pending conversations of eliminating property taxes and any other talks of items that could hurt major revenue sources for cities and schools is a challenge.

The city has been pretty adamant about not placing tax levies on the residents for city needs and have been proactive in making up for any future lost revenues but by continuing to seek out new economic development opportunities that could help offset any potential future loses.

Another major challenge would be aging infrastructure and the cost to replace that. The city and the Mayor have done a wonderful job seeking out additional money for paving, but other infrastructure needs like storm water management and water line repairs could be costly repairs. But the city is beginning discussions on how to fund that if needed.
We have a very talented Finance Department that loves numbers and projections and also being conservative with the city's money. But on the same side of things, understands we want to give back to the community. By being proactive vs reactive and having policies in place to protect us through hard times, the city remains in a pretty good position. Our Economic Development department is also very proactive and keeps up with the news of potential budget cuts and immediately starts projections on what we need to do to make up for any future loses. My approach to this is to continue to support and trust those put into those positions to keep our city in good standing with our finances.

Volunteer & Community Service I’m an active community volunteer, serving as Chairman of the Service Committee, Senior Citizen Liaison, and a member of Friends of Streetsboro Parks.
I’m proud to have played a key role in bringing a state-of-the-art community center and fire station to our city. Building on that momentum, I’m committed to continuing efforts that enhance our community’s infrastructure and quality of life. I also aim to lead by example in promoting fiscal responsibility and ensuring that our city’s budget is managed wisely for long-term sustainability.
One of the most pressing challenges facing our community is overcoming outdated mindsets and a lack of understanding about our current trajectory. Streetsboro is no longer a small rural town—we’ve experienced rapid growth and have emerged as a strong, competitive presence among neighboring communities. It’s essential that our approach to leadership and development reflects this evolution, embracing forward-thinking strategies that support continued progress.
My approach to managing potential budget cuts begins with a commitment to transparency, strategic planning, and community engagement. I believe in conducting a thorough review of expenditures to identify areas where efficiencies can be gained without compromising essential services. Prioritizing core services—such as public safety, infrastructure, and community programs—is key. I also advocate for proactive communication with department leaders and stakeholders to explore innovative solutions, such as grant opportunities, public-private partnerships, and cost-sharing initiatives. Ultimately, fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability guide every decision to ensure we continue meeting the needs of our growing city.

Having lived in Streetsboro for over 28 years, my vision is to continue to build a stronger, more connected community that grows responsibly while preserving its small-town charm. I want to see Streetsboro continue to support local businesses, expand opportunities for youth and seniors, and invest in infrastructure that keeps pace with growth. Community engagement is key—residents should feel heard and involved in decisions that shape our future. I’d support initiatives that improve parks, encourage sustainability, and strengthen local services. By working together—residents, leaders, and organizations—we can create a city that is safe, economically strong, and forward-thinking, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Streetsboro faces several challenges as it continues to grow. Rapid development, while beneficial, puts pressure on infrastructure, leading to traffic congestion and strain on public services. To address this, I would advocate for infrastructure upgrades, including expanded roadways and improved public transit options, to accommodate the growing population. Another challenge is maintaining the city’s small-town character amidst development. I propose promoting mixed-use developments that balance residential, commercial, and green spaces, ensuring growth aligns with our community’s values. Economic growth is another key issue—while Streetsboro thrives, we must diversify our economy to create more job opportunities for residents. Our city government does an amazing job at this now, and I’d love to be a part of it!
Managing potential budget cuts for Streetsboro requires a balanced approach. First, I would conduct a thorough review of all city expenditures to identify areas where efficiencies can be made without sacrificing quality, such as streamlining administrative processes or renegotiating contracts. I would prioritize funding for critical areas like public safety, infrastructure, and community services, ensuring that essential services continue uninterrupted. Also, I would work to diversify our revenue streams, focusing on increasing economic development through strategic business investments and exploring new partnerships with regional organizations for shared services. Engaging the community in budget decisions will also be key, as transparency ensures that residents feel involved and informed. Through careful planning and responsible decision-making, we can weather budget cuts without compromising the city’s long-term growth or the well-being of its residents.
