Continue to keep taxes in check. We have supported three years in a row real estate tax reductions from $1.09 to $1.03. Also keeping an eye on personal property rate reductions in the future. In the last four years have saved taxpayers over $23M. Managing economic development growth for business to increase revenues have resulted in 1,540 new jobs and $375M new business investment. Supporting public schools operating and capital budgets with our school funding formula. Over the last eight years have improved funding for schools operations by $26M.
I have served eight years and have contributed much to the Hollins District and Roanoke County. Examples are: Lower Real Estate taxes in spite of inflation, Renovated library project to begin in 2026 at Hollins. Supported a new $80M CTE school in Hollins. Supported many transportation projects and led the area as Chairman of the Transportation Policy Board (TPO). Am very proactive in responding to citizen issues and have the time to do the job.
Simply put its a great place to live, raise a family and play! I have educated two sons in county schools, lived here some 40 years. And coached youth sports and been president in the Vinton Rec Club of Roanoke County. Also supported and led the transfer of 1100 acres of Explore Park to County from state of VA.
