All of our kids deserve access to an excellent and safe educational and social experience in our county. To achieve this, we need to keep the main things the main things; safety, quality student education, and responsible school budgeting. While most of us will agree on those issues, the greatest challenge to accomplishing those is in trusted communication at all levels. Between boards, with families, educators and staff. Progress has been made in this area over the last few years and when elected I look forward to continuing to improve on that by building trusted relationships, being present in the schools and on the busses, holding community townhalls, regularly communicating with the Supervisors and being accessible with a listening ear.
I am a mom & neighbor who recognizes the need for multiple voices to be taken into account when making decisions. Our family has experienced the needs of our schools. This isn’t a part-time job for me. My full-time focus will be listening to families, learning from educators & staff, being in the schools, and researching to make the best decisions possible. For years, I have been and continue to attend both School Board and Board of Supervisors’ meetings, work sessions, question staff, review reports, volunteer within in the schools, and be actively involved with the PTA/PTO. Not because my name will be on a ballot, but because our kids, staff and community have been important to me from the beginning. I am ready to hit the ground running.
I love that Stafford’s location is central to a large variety of experiences. Within approximately 2 hours you can go hiking in the mountains, visit the Capital of our Nation, watch the sunrise over the ocean, or shop some of most charming downtowns. We have an amazing opportunity to make our schools the thing in Stafford that connects us all back to our community. The infrastructure, employees, activities and families are already in place. The Board of Supervisors and School Board can come together to make the most liked thing about our area, our schools. I'm excited to help grow Stafford County Public Schools into the pride of Stafford.
