I decided to run for Treasurer because I care deeply about Radford city and its future. For too long, residents have been left in the dark about how our money has been managed. With my background in managing payroll, finance, and HR across 38 states, I know how to bring accountability and transparency to Radford. I want every resident to feel confident that their tax dollars are being managed responsibly.
I’ve managed finances and HR across 38 states in one of the most regulated industries in the country, while staying true to my core values of transparency, accountability, and persistence. I will bring both professional expertise and my personal commitment to transparency around our city's finances.
Our biggest issue right now is the amount of debt Radford city has accrued and the lack of transparency around how our finances are being handled. A lot of residents have lost faith in our local government, and I don't blame them. As Treasurer, I'll work to make financial information easier for residents to access and understand, as well as push for better communication about how money is being spent. Even if I can't fix every issue overnight, I believe restoring trust starts with being open, honest, and transparent.

I am running for Treasurer because I care deeply about Radford and the people who call it home. With over 30 years of experience, I know the importance of accuracy and accountability. This office affects every citizen, and I want to make sure it operates effectively and responsibly from day one. My decision to run comes from a simple belief: our community deserves a Treasurer who continues to be prepared, dependable, and committed to serving with integrity. I am ready to put my knowledge and experience to work for Radford-not for politics, but for the people. I’ve seen firsthand the challenges we face, and I want to ensure our local government works efficiently and in the best interest of every citizen. My goal is to bring knowledge, integrity, and dedication to this role, so our community continues to grow stronger for the future.”
Over the years, I have built a reputation for being dependable, trustworthy, and committed to getting the job done right. These qualities are not just part of who I am — they are exactly what the Treasurer’s office requires. I believe citizens deserve someone they can count on, and someone with integrity and I am prepared to be that person.

My focus will be on maintaining high standards while also continuing making the office work better for the people it serves.

At the heart of all this is a simple commitment: to serve Radford with fairness, accountability, and dedication. My experience and skills have prepared me to step into this role and ensure that from day one, the Treasurer’s office continues to be ran with the professionalism and care our community deserves.

One of the most important issues facing the Treasurer’s office is the lack of a fully functional software system. Equally concerning is the lack of support from IT and management, which has left the office without the tools or assistance needed to modernize and operate effectively. Addressing these challenges will be a top priority for me as they are for the current Treasurer Janet Jones which will be retiring at the end of the year. By implementing a reliable software system and securing proper IT support, I will ensure that the Treasurer’s office runs smoothly and accurately for the people of Radford.
