Volunteer/Community Service Church leadership positions (Elder/Bible Teacher)
The office of Claridon Trustee is responsible for governing the township. Duties include maintaining township roads, approving the budget and regulating zoning. Parks and cemeteries also need oversight. The office demands an individual who has a strong desire to serve the community. Through my education and community leadership, I have built a strong foundation in skills like collaboration, leadership and empathy, as well as practical knowledge of policy, data analysis, and community well-being.
I believe the biggest fiscal challenge is to manage the township budget and oversee the allocation of funds for road and street maintenance.
I want to ensure we continue to fund essential services. I also want to ensure residents are fully informed regarding upcoming zoning issues. Residents will be fully informed regarding the issues of the township.
I would enthusiastically encourage the residents in Claridon who do not receive our newsletter to sign up to receive it. I would ensure the newsletter informs each resident about the issues facing our township. I would also encourage the Board of Trustees to hold town hall meetings during the year to inform and engage with residents. However, I do recognize that we all have busy lives and some residents would prefer to leave township business to the officeholders they elect. I’m also good with that approach and pledge to do the most good for the greatest number of people in Claridon whether they actively participate in township business.

Experience Aquilla Village Council Woman for 2 terms
Volunteer/Community Service I am very active in Chardon Schools by volunteering as Athletic Boosters Vice-President, Veterans Food Pantry collection, Help me learn back to school event.
I believe deeply in our community and remain dedicated to serving the needs of our township residents. During my two terms as an Aquilla Village Councilwoman, I listened carefully to every concern and treated each issue with the seriousness it deserved. While it was not always possible to fulfill every request, I worked hard to bring council together and find balanced solutions that served the best interests of all our residents.

Property tax reform can cause a huge impact to the township along with the rising cost to maintain our roads and service department. With the uncertainty of Aquilla Village becoming the responsibility of Claridon Twp I believe we will know exactly the fiscal challenges we could be facing.
I hope we will be able to continue with zoning violations around the twp and get them resolved without legal action.
I believe it is our responsibility to inform the residents with any upcoming issues and concerns through in person, mail, and through the website.

Experience Past Chardon township road superintendent
Volunteer/Community Service I wish I had time for this, our 4&5 year olds keep us busy at the moment
The role of a township trustee is to support the values of the residents and act on their behalf. As a past road superintendent of Chardon township I participated in many township meetings over the years and I know the pain points that small townships like ours face.
The recent acquisition of aquilla village will be a fiscal challenge to take on. With proper planning and budgeting, there is a clear path forward as I outlined in my time at Chardon township
As other areas around us grow, it is my impression that Claridon township wishes to stay the same. Most people move here because they prefer it over a city and the biggest challenge may be the trickle over development that seeks the land around us.
There are a few avenues for this and there isn’t one catch all answer, but between social media, email, snail mail and word of mouth, we should be able to spread the word.

Experience Claridon Trustee since 2018
Volunteer/Community Service President of the Geauga County Township Association
A Claridon Township Trustee manages the funds and affairs of the township. Roads, parks, cemeteries, buildings and so much more, the responsibilities are many and varied. The more Claridonites I meet, the more honored I am to serve them. My approach is and has always been to reestablish that old-school sense of community, to be as transparent as possible by sending out accurate and honest information through my Claridon News & Notes and to answer the call, no matter who's calling. I love serving this community!
We recently appeared before the County Budget Commission. They said, when looking at all other townships in the county, Claridon collects the least amount of road funds yet, year after year, we are still fiscally sound. That doesn't happen by accident. It takes thought, work and time and for me, prayer. It takes purpose and drive. The lack of operating revenue is our biggest challenge but, until my neighbors and friends say, 'Yes, we will pass a new road levy', we will continue to work within our means.
We have a new section of Claridon. Aquilla Village. The village recently merged into the township. The full transfer of village records and funds has not yet happened. We want Aquilla to thrive so we want to do right by the good folks living in the village. I would love for them to reach out to me with their insights.
There are hundreds of Claridonites that receive my Claridon News & Notes emails. This is a great way to stay informed on our latest initiatives and challenges. It's also informative on where the funds are, where they went and where they're going. Local township government is the purist form of American democracy. I'm just a phone call, text or email away.
