My name is Sennel Threlkeld, a lifelong resident of Pontiac with over 25 years in law enforcement. I began with the Pontiac Police Department and now serve as a Sergeant with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, leading the Pontiac Community Policing Team. I’m also a Deacon at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and a board member at the Baldwin Center.

I’m running for City Council At-Large because Pontiac needs proven, visible leadership, leaders already doing the work, not waiting for a title. I’ve led initiatives like Angels Night, Shop with a Cop, youth mentoring, and emergency support for families in crisis. I’ve worked hard to build trust, respond quickly to concerns, and stay actively involved year-round.

I bring strengths in public safety, crisis response, and collaboration. I’ve partnered with residents, local groups, and businesses to address issues like blight, crime prevention, youth empowerment, and senior scam awareness. I’m committed to a safer, stronger, and more united
The top priorities in Pontiac are crime, economic opportunity, and neighborhood revitalization.

As a city official, I will work to reduce crime by expanding community policing, investing in youth outreach, and supporting violence prevention programs that focus on intervention and prevention. Public safety must be proactive, not reactive and that starts with building trust, visibility, and consistent engagement in every neighborhood.

To create economic opportunity, I’ll support job training, career readiness programs, youth employment, and small business development.

For neighborhood revitalization, I’ll advocate for increased funding to address blight, expand affordable housing, support home repairs for seniors, and organize community clean-up and beautification efforts.

I’ve been active in all three areas and will continue to lead with commitment, consistency, and action, not just promises.
