Attorneys General across the country have been a key part of the fight defending their states from illegal policies by the Trump administration, and I will get Virginia off the sidelines to join them. Jason Miyares has refused to stand up for Virginians when they’ve been the victim of unlawful firings and when we’ve had critical resources for our law enforcement, healthcare workers, veterans, and schools attacked. I won’t hesitate to work on behalf of the citizens. The Attorney General’s office is sworn to protect and take action to protect our communities, our economy, and our rights.
I support fair elections that reflect the will of the voters. If the legislature and governor entered Virginia into the compact, I would follow through on my responsibilities to defend the legislation in court.
I will focus on keeping Virginians safe, making our state a more affordable place to live, and protecting the rights and livelihoods of working families:
- Protecting Virginians by restoring a focus on fighting violent crime, partnering with local law enforcement to give them the tools and staffing levels they need to keep people safe, getting illegal guns off our streets, and protecting kids from predators.
- Lowering housing, utility, and healthcare costs by cracking down on large corporations and corporate landlords taking advantage of Virginians or illegally fixing prices
- Protecting Virginians’ rights by standing up against the Trump administration when they break the law, defending abortion rights, and preserving voting rights.
