Stark County Issue 4: City of North Canton Income Tax Increase
Income tax increase, 1.5% to 2.0%, general municipal operations, continuing period of time, effective 1/1/2026.The City of North Canton is proposing a 0.5% income tax rate increase.If passed, the City commits to release or let expire three (3) property tax levies. This would lower the property tax burden for North Canton property owners versus an an alternative 7.3 mill property tax renewal and increase option.Income from the proposed income tax rate increase would fund continued Fire/EMS operations, a new consolidated Fire/EMS facility, and residential road paving.The tax would not affect most retirement income sources: for example, Social Security, pensions, 401k disbursements, IRAs, etc.For more information, see North Canton Ohio, Issue 4.
