Training and Experience27 Years in the construction industry serving the public as a Building/Zoning Inspector.
Current OccupationState Certified Building Inspector
As a city councilman, it is my responsibility to represent the residents of Ward 3 and advocate for their needs through thoughtful decisions on their behalf. This includes working collaboratively will fellow Elyria council members to pass legislation, allocate funds responsibly and ensure transparency in city operations.
City Council representatives also must have a clear understanding of the Elyria Codified Ordinances, zoning code and building codes to make educated decisions on daily operations of the city.
Most importantly a Councilman should be accessible to the residents and engage with the community as a leader finding ways to uplift residents and improve the quality of life for ALL our residents.
My 27 years of city government service working as a Building Inspector gives me the hands on experience to work directly with residents, businesses, and city departments to improve our local infrastructure. My knowledge of the various codes and ordinances will prove to be helpful with future development within the city and an understanding of how the city systems work and how they may be broken.
My entire life I have been proud to give back to the community through involvement in local events, volunteer work and church life. As a councilman I will have the opportunity organize groups to clean up our neighborhoods and serve our underprivileged residents like they should be, I am excited to get to work and be part of the solution.
1. I will hold the city accountable for improving our infrastructure for future building in the City of Elyria. The Chestnut Commons area and continued annexing of property for housing developments needs better oversight, extending our city's boundaries without addressing the concerns with traffic, utilities and the residents concerns is unacceptable.
2. With the rising cost of daily living expenses the residents can not afford the continued rising cost of utilities and city services. Some tough decisions will have to be made for every department next year to balance the budget, while maintaining the services residents expect.
3. I would like to bring back the sense of community in Elyria once again, one where we help our neighbors...
