Your Experience/Qualifications Corvallis School Board: 2021-present; OSBA Board of Directors, Region 10 (Linn, Benton, Lincoln): 2025-present; OSBA Caucus of Color, Vice President: 2023-present
I have several years of board experience through different types of boards and five years of experience on our local school board. I also have 20+ years of budget oversight. I am engaged with the community and am an educator in higher education as well.
It is the responsibility of board members to ensure districts follow federal and state educational policies so all students receive a quality education and are supported in reaching their educational goals. Our funding depends on policy compliance, and students rely on being supported and safe through these policies.
There are several issues that need to be addressed. For the funding crisis, I am advocating at the state level while also helping educate the community on budget advocacy. For bullying, I am working on policy revision advocacy. For housing affordability that is impacting our enrollment, I am advocating at the local level.
