Position/philosophy statement My philosophy about life is simple. If you have a problem with the way things are being done, get involved and work toward change for the better. If you aren't willing to work toward fixing the problem, you shouldn't criticize the ones who do try.
Current Occupation I am retired after a career in journalism and then public relations.
I was elected to the Wesley Chapel Village Council in 2021. Prior to being elected, I served on the Village Planning Board for six years. My experience over the past 10 years makes me uniquely qualified to continue to serve the residents of Wesley Chapel. I also served on the Village’s Strategic Planning Committee and am proud to have been part of the team that wrote the Strategic Plan; Vision 2050. This will be of great value when looking ahead to the future.
Preservation and protection of our forests and wildlife is my number one priority. With little to no regard for our forest lands, developers, utility companies and the state’s department of transportation have decimated our forests, clear-cutting thousands of acres of woodlands around Union County in the past few years. If you want to see the results of this unchecked destruction, just drive around the county.

Stormwater runoff and flooding are also priorities. It breaks my heart when homeowners come to our council meetings, showing the devastation caused by storm water runoff from improperly constructed nearby neighborhoods. Sometimes the damage to these homes is catastrophic.
We can attempt to reduce the destruction of our forests and wildlife habitat by prohibiting overdevelopment, and scrutinizing developers with dollar signs in their eyes rather than protecting the environment. The way to do this is to maintain strict zoning laws and not cave to state and local pressures to cram as many houses and businesses in our communities as possible.

I also believe it's imperative that we educate others about the issues at hand. Bring attention to those things that are wrong with the world around us and then try to find solutions.
