The Town of Waxhaw has a council-manager form of government that recognizes the Board of Commissioners as its governing body, which consists of a Mayor and five Board members who serve part-time. The Mayor and Council members are elected at-large in non-partisan elections to staggered four-year terms, with three Board members being elected every two years. The Board of Commissioners appoints a Town Manager to achieve the desired goals, set by the Board. The Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Town and executes the Board s established laws and policies. The Town Manager also ensures the equitable and responsive delivery of services are being served to all in the community.
